And this is why you don't back shit on kickstarter, you aren't entitled to anything, if the project fails, it fails.
The only reason why I liked the Yogscast in the first place was Shadow of Israphel. After they stopped doing that I got bored with their channel.
Yogscast introduced me to Sips, the real guy, the best guy. I never left that and Im still watching the bastard to this day
And that's why I keep myself far, far away from video game kickstarters [editline]15th July 2014[/editline]
Yogscast introduced me to Sips, the real guy, the best guy. Time for the obligatory Wah Wah Wah Failed Kickstarter Trumpet.
How could they need more than half a million for an indie title? Something tells me this is quite fishy. Well then again, it was a pretty 'ambitious' idea with a stupid concept to begin with.
Do you know how much software, hardware, and salaries cost? From what I understand they had 6 guys working on it, were building an engine from scratch, and then the money ran out.
Yogscast introduced me to Sips, the real guy, the best guy. I never left that and Im still watching the bastard to this day
the magnificent bastard honestly i thought facepunch disliked yogscast
Time for the obligatory Wah Wah Wah Failed Kickstarter Trumpet.
Bum bum babuuuum Waaaaaaow
the magnificent bastard honestly i thought facepunch disliked yogscast
Im a fan. hell ive even seen sjin and duncan around bristol, their offices weren't too far from my college.
300,000 to 1,000,00 views on their recent videos, 1 or 2 released daily, so yeah.
My friend still tries to get me too watch them. I am surprised that they didn't sink with the Minecraft ship, but then again I am not because tons of dumbasses bought it for Xbox and that sort of expanded its lifespan. Honestly though, the Minecraft community was toxic and I really wish it just died already. That, and it jumpstarted the trend of horrendous Let's Plays along with games like Amnesia.

I don't think there are a lot of people who still play vanilla
It's the modpacks that keep it alive. I don't think there are a lot of people who still play vanilla
I'll play Minecraft again when I don't get 15 FPS on a gaming computer AKA never, because fucking Java
Sips is the greatest. Everyone else can go copulate with a cactus
Except for Zoey and Nilesy
Minecraft HAD potential
Why would you trust goons with anything, I guess none of them played eve :v:
Something Awful is Facepunch's competent cousin. Basically, we're Freeside, and they're New Vegas.
Something Awful is Facepunch's competent cousin. Basically, we're Freeside, and they're New Vegas.
I should explain, I'm a goon, I wouldn't trust me. :v:
Something Awful is Facepunch's competent cousin. Basically, we're Freeside, and they're New Vegas.
TUNNEL RATS RULE! Oh, wait, that's 9gag.
I'll play Minecraft again when I don't get 15 FPS on a gaming computer AKA never, because fucking Java
Your 1998 "gaming computer" might need an upgrade then, because I've always been able to run it just fine.
Your 1998 "gaming computer" might need an upgrade then, because I've always been able to run it just fine.
Well, since ~Beta 1.5. Before then, it lagged for pretty much everyone. [editline]15th July 2014[/editline] Also, Java is not the bottleneck for Minecraft.
Notches shitty coding is :v:
Notches shitty coding is :v:
Mostly the disk usage, actually. That's why changing the world format sped the game up so much.
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-07-17-kickstarter-funded-yogventures-canned-backers-given-steam-key-for-another-game-instead They officially canned it.
"Although we're under no obligation to do anything, instead we're going to do our best to make this right, and make you really glad you backed the project!"
Wow.
Minecraft HAD potential
you know you are in a hipster forum when worldwide successful games HAD potential
I took a look at the TUG game. Lewis must be on some serious hash if he thinks that "it's everything Yogventures should originally have been and has the potential to be far bigger and better." Makes me wonder if they actually put any thought or effort into Yogventure to begin with.
What makes you say that?
A wasted investment sadly. If they actually put effort into the game and hired a decent developer group, their chances of cranking out a good game would have been high.
TUG also had a successful kickstarter and raised half the amount of money. Yet they've been able to put together a team. They have a lot of good ideas; maybe not what Yogventure was meant to be, but hopefully a nice change of pace in the "open world/randomly generated" bandwagon going on lately.
I'll play Minecraft again when I don't get 15 FPS on a gaming computer AKA never, because fucking Java
How well does it play wolfenstein? 3D. [editline]17th July 2014[/editline]
you know you are in a hipster forum when worldwide successful fames HAD potential
Minecraft is the best selling PC game of all time. But it still has a lot of squandered potential as far as the actual game went, not sales.
What's up with that Smosh game?
Wow.
They are under obligation to refund people, read the kickstarter terms of service. They're literally just lying to people.
They are under obligation to refund people, read the kickstarter terms of service. They're literally just lying to people.
No, they're not. This isn't their project, they just promoted it.
No, they're not. This isn't their project, they just promoted it.
It's a project with their name, based around them, using their website, and they promoted it. Maybe the Yogscast isn't directly responsible but whoever had the money is legally obligated to give refunds.

It's his obligation to do something with the money, and while they don't have to, the Yogscast are helping him out and using their clout to fix the problem.
