I own a tabard with a heart on it that I wore at Hearts games back in Scotland.
Yes
obviously
which is exactly why US, Netherlands, France, Belgium, and Germany are all doing well.

The last time I checked the US wasn't a European team, they still play in relatively warm climates. And if you watch any of these nation's games then you'll notice that the players pull up with cramp quite often, you also have to factor in who each side are playing.
But what's to stop, guards and forwards in basketball, attacks in lacrosse, and wingmen in hockey from doing the same thing?
Defenders and the risks of breaking out to press a fastbreak to the goal instead of playing steady defense. I don't see how this would be much more different for soccer.
Without offside fouls, the entire game would just be endless longballs to strikers standing around the keeper. It would be like a non-stop corner setpiece.
As an Argentine, I watched this year's Super Bowl....and I thought: Jesus, how can they watch this?
I mean, the referee stopped the game every goddamn minute. It wasn't fluid.
It puzzles me why Rugby isn't that famous in US...
But Soccer.....dude, soccer is the most basic sport (As said here, one ball and two legs) and at the same the most complex one with all the patterns, formations and play styles.
EDIT: Also related to having been in the US, I don't really know if soccer isn't THAT popular.
See, I got my cousins-in-law (Is that a real term? Anyway, you know what I mean) who used to live in Colombia and then went to the US. I found out one of them, the eldest (14) plays soccer with his school team.
And man
What a playing field they have got with that school!!!
There were many kids in the practice, I counted 30+, which is a lot if you ask me for a school training session a friday afternoon.
