why?
why?
It was just a tiny bow, Americans REALLY don't have any real problems so they just nitpick on everything.
I thought you raged at obama.
Oh, ok.
I'm an American and I'm so fucking pissed that he bowed to the Japaneese! RAGE!!!
Not really. I don't really care the fact that he bowed or not. It's not like he's bowing infront of Osama Bin Laden.
'scuse me, nobody else bowed to him.

Oh and now he bows to China's president

I love all the idiots in the thread who keep saying "America is Pissed" generalising everyone into obama bashers. Stop causing trouble by saying "America is stupid, Stupid Americunts, etc"
Obama did his research. He knows how to show respect.
Pitty the rest of America couldn't follow his fine example. :v:

The rest of America is getting tired of him already. If there was another election now, he would lose.

To who exactly?
Also, you've got a better leader than we have in the UK.
Obama's charismatic and fun.
Brown's odd and boring.

To who, that airheaded bitch Palin who just lost in NY because she ran the republican candidate out and put a whacko in his place?
The only people "tired of him" are the ones that hated him in the first place.

Yeah calling over 3 million people stupid is will stop all the trouble.
A news article doesn't represent the thoughts of the American people.
Dagnabbit how dare he show respect to other cultures
People are mad because our culture is about not bowing to others since we were revolutionized and to not bow o others of power. He is representing the united states and not himself, where as they did shake hands, and also and when he bowed the emperor didn't bow back.. because its said the emperor bows to nobody..
I don't understand why americans are so worked over obama, is it because he's black?
Japan got pwned like no country ever has(literally, who else has been nuked...TWICE in the same week!). We can afford to throw them a bone with a bow.
A quick bow to an older figurehead leader is alright by me. In the larger scheme of things it means nothing, beyond the gesture itself. We(the US) do business with, and recognize the authority of, leaders that actually do things like throw people in prison without trial...wait, we do that too, let me find another example.
Okay, we do business with and recognize leaders who invade other countries without reason...wait a second.
Well, the point is the President bowing to some old Japanese guy is the least of the things Americans should be concerned about.

An expression comes to mind.
When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

Palin didn't run in NY.
What the hell are you talking about? :v:
I don't understand why americans are so worked over obama, is it because he's black?
Oh no somebody is unpopular
it must be because they're black, and everyone who dislikes them is racist
Oh my god showing respect for other world leaders. What a horrible man. Impeach, impeach!
you know to impeach is to charge with misconduct, and not remove from office, right
He's not bowing, he's just leaning in close to grasp the emperor's tiny hand
TH89, The King of Logic.
If Americans really find this frustrating, they should be killed off.
Yeah Genocide solves everything. Just like Violence and War.
I don't understand why americans are so worked over obama, is it because he's black?
the american right won't say it aloud, but yes
The comment about the nuclear bombings was that this somehow cleans the Japanese record in WW2, so my comment, arguing against that idea, is relevant. Feel free to disagree with it, but it's relevant.
I have nothing against modern Japan, but people seem surprisingly eager to defend it compared to say, Germany, and I find that very hypocritical.
Are you saying that if obama had bowed in front of a german official the response on this forum would be different? Because I think not.
the american right won't say it aloud, but yes
The proof this is true is to look at their words.
For instance, they(conservatives/Republicans/'True' Americans) were all about patriotism, support the troops, etc.
A black man gets elected and now there are Republican elected officials(not just nobodies) using words like 'revolution'. They were throwing words like "socialist" around, saying he's not even a born citizen- all before he even had a chance to do anything.
Keep in mind that this is after their own two term President actually did things like invade another country on a lie, and have people thrown in prison and torture them without even charging them with anything.
In other words:
White President=He can do whatever cause he's the President baby! If you don't like it you are an unpatriotic wimpy liberal who wants our enemies to win.
Black President=OMG, this isn't American anymore, buy guns and ammo cause we need a revolution to save America! He's an African Muslim trying to socialize the country with Death Panels!
No one wants to admit it though, because it means we still have idiots who are racist and lots of them have positions of power(in business, government, religion, and elsewhere). Americans like to think we're past all that.
edit: by 'no one' I mean people who have a vested interest in pretending racism doesn't exist. Realists of course don't have a problem with talking about it.
"wah we are literally still in the year 1942 " - the article writer

Just because nobody else had the manners to bow doesn't mean obama was in the wrong for doing so.
People who think basic civility and knowledge of a foreign country's customs is a sign of weakness need to step back and analyze the way they look at things.
