Wait so if the two atoms (photons or whatnot) have to be entangled in the first place and then moved farther away from each other, and the "sending" atom gets disrupted, then isn't this "teleportation" a one-time thing?
Wouldn't you have to get two more entangled atoms to send more information?

im probably wrong but my basic understanding of quantum stuff is
you have two particles that come from the same place, both going in different directions and both spinning in different ways
when you look at one particle you see which way its spinning (lets say left) and the other particle spins in the opposite direction (right)
the thing is theres no way to tell which direction a particle is spinning at before you observe it, and the results of indirect observation shows that theres simply no way to know what way a particle is spinning, as if the direction the particle was spinning was determined when you looked at it
its like schrodinger's cat, it's both left and right until you look at it and determine which way it is
the thing is that the two particles spin in opposite directions, but there's no way to know which way one particle is spinning until you look at it, which means you look at one particle the other particle has to at that precise moment "decide" to be spinning in the opposite direction
thus the two particles have to be linked somehow, an instantanious link between the two formed when one particle goes "oh shit they're looking at me im spinning left" and, at the speed of light, the other particle receives that information and goes "shit i better be spinning right"
quantum mechanics boils down to trying to understand that instant transmission and abuse it, eg making computer systems that "read" the particles and manipulate them to make the other particle go in the opposite direction then reading that particle to send infomation
basically particles are doing some sneaky shit and we want to know how
