• 'Three black teenagers' Google search sparks outrage

What happens is that Google indexes images based on words associated with them. Google sees "3 black teenagers" in a news article and grabs the associated image, often mugshots. This is not because of any bias on Google's part, nor society. It's more of a linguistic quirk than anything else. Given that whites form a large majority in the US, white is "default". An article won't make any note of the person's race if they're white, because people assume they are white. On the other hand, articles will often note if a person is black because blacks form a minority in the US. Black isn't the default.

"google is racist" ...
I would assume in a predominantly black country that the media would mention if a perpetrator was white.
Exactly what I'm saying. The majority, in this case white, is the default. Ergo, it's not mentioned.

There's no pretending that consciously or unconsciously, the media does not fan the flames of anti-minority sentiment.

It's the fucking news, reporting what information they have accurately is literally their job description. It's not some grand conspiracy to hold black people down.

Again, the suspect's race is only usually reported if the person isn't white. Use your head for a moment.
How about just searching up "three teenagers"? [T]http://i.imgur.com/EqKkjT9.jpg[/T]

Use your head for a moment.
Because it's assumed that the suspect is white unless otherwise stated, I've heard plenty of reports in which they specific that a suspect is white, so that claim really isn't that strong in the first place.
Is this real life?
