oh god, imagine a Disney D&D.
While the concept itself is cringe-worthy, if handled correctly, I could see it being pulled off as a financial success, similar to the concept of Kingdom Hearts.
I'm pretty sure there already was some fairly popular cartoon-themed table-top RPG.
AHAHAHAHAHAHA IT BEGINS
2006 - Pixar
what pixar has been with disney a LOT longer than 2006
By the way, did you really have to tell everybody Hasbro owns MLP in the title? You had to have known that would cause a shitstorm. ...Then again, that's a great Sensationalist title.
Waiting for disney to buy hentai producting companies.
Hasbro seems pretty big, and Lucasarts was a big small in scale in terms of franchises. Yes, Star Wars was fucking huge, but it was completely owned by Lucas, I don't think Hasbro could be bought out.
what pixar has been with disney a LOT longer than 2006
Actually they had a Nintendo/Rareware relationship until Dreamworks tried to buy them in 2005. Things became a bit hairy at first, but them Disney made a better offer and bought them.
Actually they had a Nintendo/Rareware relationship until Dreamworks tried to buy them in 2005. Things became a bit hairy at first, but them Disney made a better offer and bought them.
where the hell did you get this info watch the pixar story
Disney buys Valve.
Honestly I didn't get that joke. VALVe said they wouldn't sell out, it'd be more likely for VALVe to buy Disney. Oh, and we need another FP thread simulator.
Actually they had a Nintendo/Rareware relationship until Dreamworks tried to buy them in 2005. Things became a bit hairy at first, but them Disney made a better offer and bought them.
what? Dreamworks copied them in the late 90's, why would they even want to be remotely associated with them? I guess you people are right. I mean, with all the shit Disney did to Marvel... like that billion-dollar making movie... and a SHIELD TV show in the works by Joss Whedon... and more Marvel films. -scratches chin- Hm, you know, I'm failing to see something bad in this.
Actually they had a Nintendo/Rareware relationship until Dreamworks tried to buy them in 2005. Things became a bit hairy at first, but them Disney made a better offer and bought them.
Nintendo and Pixar were never once in a relationship together.
Disney buys Valve.
They would probably create a movie about talking headcrabs that help a man confront the love of his life while the evil g-man tries to take them away but the man sacrifices his chance to make a move on his love for his headcrabs after he dissapointed them.
hello, i am facepunch, i think it's horrible when companies buy franchises and ruin them, but i think a company should buy and ruin a cartoon because i don't like it
Yup, that's definitely Facepunch.
Perhaps this is an isolated case but my 14 year old little bro has ADHD and goes to a school for special kids. Almost all the boys there save 2 or 3 are bronies. The worst part is they are the obnoxious kind so they basically make his life hell. The ironic part is that the one girl in that class hates the shit out of MLP because all those spergs :v: I can understand liking a show, but 14 year old boys having an unhealthy obsession with a show specifically made for 9 year old little girls is pretty bad no matter how you look at it. You don't see fans of Samurai Jack yapping about it every single fucking day or taking the persona of one of the characters from the show to the point of insanity. Not to mention all the fucked up sexual fetishes on it you tend to see on the internet. My guess is spergs tend to see it as a group where they can belong. But having autism doesn't warrant wanting to fuck a cartoon pony.
This thread is fucking hilarious. I don't like MLP either (never saw the appeal of it even though I watched a few episodes), but I am not a dick to everyone who does. I mean, I was back when MLP was starting to get popular, but then I grew the fuck up.
Goodbye bronies!
oh god, imagine a Disney D&D.
Donald Duck as a rage-mode barbarian :v:
My Little Desperation Ep1: Disney has no creativity
Then I guess our precious Valve has no creativity either? Counter-Strike, originally a mod, Day of Defeat, same thing. The idea behind L4D was made by Turtlerock and the original idea behind Portal was made by a bunch of students at DigiPen and the idea behind Dota 2 was obviously not theirs either. Team Fortress started out as a mod as well. So Valve only made Half Life? Oh and uh, ricochet. :v:

If anything, this would be better for bronies. It's no secret that Hasbro cares little about their cartoons. They're just extended toy adverts to them. Disney already has a lot of older fans for their cartoons, so they would probably be able to handle it better. I don't really care either way, though.
mlp is stupid bronies are stupid anyway disney will buy everything
Disney should buy the rights for MLP from Hasbro so they can fuck the show and the toys up like they will unfortunately do to Star Wars.
Disney should buy the rights for MLP from Hasbro so they can fuck the show and the toys up like they will unfortunately do to Star Wars.
you're not helping. you're being more annoying than those who flaunt their like for the show everywhere.
Hasbro seems pretty big, and Lucasarts was a big small in scale in terms of franchises. Yes, Star Wars was fucking huge, but it was completely owned by Lucas, I don't think Hasbro could be bought out.
this pretty much sums up why i think hasbro won't end up being bought.

Disney already has a lot of older fans for their cartoons, so they would probably be able to handle it better.
They actually changed their tune pretty recently, though. They took a massive, massive fall for the sake of setting up the Hub so they wouldn't have to beckon to outside moral influence, especially when they're trying to jump start that "aligned continuity" for transformers (which I have to admit they're at least trying with, as much as I dislike Prime). It had massive financial cost though, and the channel is almost doomed to failure. Couple this with the massive cost-cutting they had to do to make their toys economically viable- to the point where they ditched a set of molds to create cheaper ones- it means that Hasbro is in a very vulnerable state economically. And whilst we're at it, let's talk disney. Disney aren't interested in My Little Pony here. At all. Anyone remember when they bought Saban about a decade ago hoping to dominate the boy's toy market with Power Rangers and Digimon? Well, they're likely having a second shot now that there are some key franchises (Transformers, GI Joe, the Star Wars licensing) involved.
I hope they don't for the simple reason I trust Hasbro to continue not giving a fuck about bronies. The majority of the fanbase is so blisteringly retarded that if they took even the simplest suggestions on the show to heart, the entire thing would collapse into a circle of circlejerk and terrible TV. Disney, I think is more likely to pay attention to their fans.
did Bob Page buy disney or something
Disney channel are where most people have interaction with Disney on a daily basis.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume more people watch ABC than the Disney channel(s).
I wish to speak to the spirit of Walt Disney and tell him what has become of his company. Seriously. Walt would not be very keen to see his company becoming a money grubbing monster bent on destroying the competition.
2006 - Pixar 2009 - Marvel 2012 - Lucasfilm 2015 - The White House
Dun dun dun!
