[QUOTE=Anthracite;29293285]It is ignorable, that's not the point. If you buy a car aren't going going to complain if it has no tires and the salesman tell you you have to buy them as accessories ?[/QUOTE]
Horrible analogy.
What's really going is that you've bought a car, afterwards reading the brouchure, and getting angry at the fact that there is a different version that comes with sat-nav and satellite radio for a few hundred extra dollars.
At least the car you bought does not have a hat on the top.
Christ, the thing I find most shocking is how Valve didn't advertise the feature. The only reason they didn't is because they knew they'd lose sales if people knew. I fucking hate the Mann-Co store, and I think it's what ruined TF2. I'm sorry, but Valve need to realise that Microtransactions are not the way forward.
They don't effect anything, some people like customizable stuff. If you don't want to pay, then don't whine because it doesn't matter.

But this actually happens. You pay for a better version of a model, it will have more gadgets.
i like portal 2 :D
I was supposed to come home today, but i will come home tomorrow instead. :smith:

You need tires to drive, you don't need accessories to play the game, or even enjoy it.
Also, :iiaca:

A car requires tires. Portal 2 does not require hats. It seriously isn't that bad, just ignore it.
Also, pony boy up there just ninja'd the fuck out of me.
Although, at least it makes some kind of sense to have that stuff in TF2 (whether or not you pay for it is a different matter) but in a two player game, it matters even less.
Portal 1 play time = 5 hours
portal 2 play time = 3 hours

That analogy is wrong on so many levels.

No.
guys, just stop with the analogies
it always end up in some retarded hole where the analogy makes no more sense like:
IN ORDER FOR THE CAR TO BE SOLD AT THE DEALERSHIP THE DRIVER SHOULD HAVE THE FUNDS FOR HIS 401k OR ELSE HE'LL DIE FROM A DEADLY LIVER PARASITE
sinbues is rating everyone dumb. Obvious anti-portal'r

Will consoles receive this "Store"?
[editline]19th April 2011[/editline]
It's out for consoles by the way, on play.com.
*nevermind solved it*
Well, lets just hope that they don't add the ability to trade.
These hats are really not comparable to micropayments. I still dont like the idea though...
I won't have the money for this until the end of June. I start working on my new job in May 1st, with payment delayed by one month.
Yay. :tinfoil:
And for the people complaining about the micropayments:
Nobody's forcing you to buy them.
[QUOTE=Coffee;29293981]And for the people complaining about the micropayments:

that's a typical and annoying argument.
If I see some cool item in-game on someone else I might want to have it too. What I don't want is pay 2€ something for it, because it's just a little insignificant virtual item
(in an already quite expensive game)
bottom line is IMO DLC's and virtual goods suck unless they don't cost any actual money or are free altogether
[editline]19th April 2011[/editline]
I wouldn't mind this at all if there was some system behind it where you could earn these items by playing the game.
Like a Steam-points system or so. Or the drop system like in TF2 (which might be planned for Portal 2, I dunno)
But buying them with money? No sir, not for me.

so basically; "I want shit to be free why isn't it free valve are such greedy dicks"
it's a typical and annoying argument because it's the goddamn truth, and no one likes that fact.
Guys. Its been said multiple times that you unlock gestures as you play coop. The store is just for lazy people.
Completed. Wow. Dat ending, and dat song.
Manly tears at the end of that game. Manly tears.
1. "You don't have to use it" still lets other people use those shops, they support them and if it's working, it will be the future (like with DLCs, now look at that overpriced shit out there and the preorder crap cut from the game). That's why it is in Portal 2 as well - because it worked in TF2.
2. Even if I ignore it, it still drives the community crazy. It splits it. And the community is what made me stop playing TF2 in the first place. Trading, discussing and collecting instead of playing. It's like Valve is selling us a shopping game, played with real money.
Is there a drop system?
HRRGGGGHHH.. Amazon doesn't release this until the 21st. I am nerding out right now.
ahaha, on the day that Portal 2 gets released, my computer suddenly just without reason completely dies.

oyeah? well my steam account got hacked 3days before portal 2 come out. it's now about 300€ lost.. STEAM SUPPORT, ANSWER MEEEEE
I can't believe the last 5 pages have been about that goddamn store. This game has been hyped for months, if not years, and yet all you guys can focus on is HATS AND ACCESSORIES.
