People need to stop listening to these douchebags. It's like they're looking for things to bitch about because they know people will listen to them.
I think it's bullshit that he says that it was done by some "amateur employee". Show some fucking respect if you want some yourself.
Clearly a game developer isn't a good game developer if he doesn't research all religions before creating games
God forbid that we respect and be nice to one another. It's called courtesy.
So, where does courtesy on the part of the other party come into play? After all, it's rather discourteous to make a scene about text in a fucking video game is it not? Especially if it was unintentional. Or does it only apply one way? This line of reasoning is extremely flawed.
how to get your way: 1. be muslim. 2. say something is offensive. 3. repeat steps 1 and 2 4. if steps fail, fuck up an embassy. 5. repeat steps 1 and 2 afterwards

I don't really get our anyone notices this, who literally plays mw2 to inspect every single detail of the game? What about how in mw2 those random text dialogues come out, you know how one of them says ALLAH AKBAR when they get a kill or whatever? Only a matter of time till someone bitches about that
Next thing Christians will be complaining that portraying Jesus as a minecraft creation was offensive too. Sorry about the stupid circle by the way, I didn't make the image.
Pity,it would be fun to watch Muslims trying to blow up Activision's headquarters...

The only things worth complaining about are Islamic quotes written on bathroom walls, apparently.
I had seen the video before and I was thinking, who the hell looks that close at a picture frame in a game, and why get so mad about it. I passed it off thinking no one would do anything about it. Then they take the entire map down.
I can't fathom the retard in all of this, someone always has to be offended by something. The people that were offended by this are being way too sensitive, they should fuck off.
People get offended on a texture based in a computer-generated game which isn’t technically a bathroom. Seems pretty retarded to me.
Wow, I can't believe people are actually throwing a big fit over it. Like seriously, fuck off, you're playing a game involving killing many people and you don't mind this, but you mind the frame in a bathroom? Jesus christ.

activision should take it down and replace the picture with an exact replica, except the text around it would say "bitch alert" in arabic
guys i'm really confused about this why is there a picture of a tree with quotes from the Qu'ran over a toilet in what is supposed to be a map of a South American country??? i'm really confused
I like coming into this thread and people complaining about "Muslims" doing something, where exactly did "they" do anything? As far as I know it was probably a complaint from anonymous user- the guy who uploaded the original video. Plenty of other players who were Muslim probably didn't care or notice- why blame them for something another guy did? Honestly if you're getting worked up over a stupid video game deciding to remove something it's really no better than those who get worked up over some perceived slight a video game might have. If anything it should be more on Activision for handling this poorly. Even the guy who uploaded the video says simply "Hello, i never asked IW to take the map down, we only asked them to remove the picture and i think its our right, and any religion's right." And it's not like you can't play Favela, AFAIK it's only affecting official servers, not those running on their own rotations and whatever.
If that was a picture of Jesus or some text from the bible on it, no one would've given a shit (and even less the muslims).
seriously someone explain this to me, is Infinity Ward really that lazy?
If that was a picture of Jesus or text from the bible no one would've gave a shit (and even less the muslims).
Because Christians are a little bit more grown up and don't over react at these things
like seriously, are muslims not offended by the fact that the Modern Warfare series essentially wraps up all muslim terrorism in a neat little bow and says any force is justified to them, not matter how much or who it is pointed towards? this just sounds like an elaborate hoax
Replace the painting of a tree with a depiction of Muhammad.
No Make it Muhammad getting sodomized
seriously someone explain this to me, is Infinity Ward really that lazy?
I wouldn't be surprised if it was just an asset from the first Modern Warfare that they re-used. Honestly, you'd really have to be looking for this quote in order to find it.
goddammit I actually enjoy Favela. It's a fun map with a good balance between camping and running around and there's only one or two zones for braindead people to get shot by snipers.

Wasn't favela the first map they showed off because it had loads of levels? I was so excited ;_;
I don't know about you guys, but is it even arabic text written on the frame? And does it really translate to what the guy says it translates to? It could just be a bunch of lines and squiggles that just vaguely looks like arabic text.
