No, valve would roll out a 1mb or less update to the game and nobody would ever notice the difference.
That's essentially what IW is doing.
That's essentially what IW is doing.
But they are taking down the map at the same time, that is the difference, which is what I think is the main gripe here. Though I guess since it being a console game they cannot just replace the file in a texture folder

Even though it says nothing offensive about Islam.
As a Muslim I find trees to be very offensive
How is this in any way offensive? Because it was in the bathroom? My aunt Calligraphy of Allah in the bathroom and she's devout.

Probably late but, it wasn't the tree that was offensive. It was the arabic (I dunno what language that writing is in) text that was on the picture frame. Apparently it's offensive to have Islamic scriptures in a bathroom?
On the list of things offending your religion, bitching about a low-res picture of a tree in a three-year old game is sure one of the nitpickiest thing you can think of.
No wonder film "Innocence of Muslims" was made, muslims bitch and cry about everything. Favorite map = gone.
Why are we blaming the entire muslim community? We don't know who or how many people reported this, we shouldn't jump to conclusions this fast.
Why are we blaming the entire muslim community? We don't know who or how many people reported this, we shouldn't jump to conclusions this fast.
doesn't it make the situation worse if only a small handful of people reported the "offensive" content
doesn't it make the situation worse if only a small handful of people reported the "offensive" content
The fact that Activision would listen to a handful of people whining about such a thing, yeah. But we don't know how many people reported it, it could really be a handful of people, and we're still blaming the muslim community as a whole.

I believe that this is as ridiculous as the rest of you, but almost all of you seem to be misunderstanding how important religion is to Muslims. You have to realize that, in the US at least, a lot of the gaming community really doesn't care much for religion. It's the total opposite of the Middle Eastern area. They grow up with it, it surrounds them. It's built into their psychology. So of course if someone accidentally found this (I'm sure they weren't looking for it :v:), they'd request it'd be taken down because they'd always know it's there. I mean, the name of their deity is written on a dirty bathroom wall. What does that insinuate? Their culture is so different than ours. Respect and all that honor shit over there is so important to them that it pretty much has ruined them historically. Over here, we wouldn't really even care if there was some insult written on the wall. Because nobody in our (American) culture takes respect very seriously. It's not about them (Middle Easterners) 'growing a pair'..
I don't agree with the actions that Activision took, but I would like to take a moment to congratulate you on being incredibly ~ edgy ~
Thanks. I like my art aswell.
makes me wanna draw a picture of mohammed and take a shit on it
