Yeah that e-petition will never get through. A vast amount of the people who did the looting recieve benefit payments as their only source of money, taking it away from them just means that the poor become poorer and then riots may start up because they haven't got money for food. This is what happens when the money you get off the jobseekers allowance (unemployed) is more than the minimum wage. Which is why I know quite a few unemployed people. Why work when you get more money for being unemployed?
because your dragging the entire country down on your laziness, but then again if i was in their situation i'd be happy with the benefits [editline]12th August 2011[/editline]
Actually, the family of the person that was shot went on a quiet protest outside the local police station. Then his gang decided to go fuck everything up.
i feel sorry for the family, they were saying how their son would never carry a weapon and is not a trouble maker then his mates and the evidence just proved that their son was infact everything they said he wasnt :/
So the death toll will probably end at 4. Its nice that the father of some of the guys killed in Birmingham just called for peace and calm. That very well could have turned nasty. Talk of racial rifts and what not.
5. 3 run over. 1 gunshot victim. 1 beaten victim.
Woot Bill Bratton is coming!
They sure showed this rich bastard: That'll teach him for owning his own barber shop! Fucking morons
what the fuck kind of scum steal an old kettle and cotton wool. quite frankly I want to give that old man all of my money.
what the fuck kind of scum steal an old kettle and cotton wool. quite frankly I want to give that old man all of my money.
Why don't you do so then?
Some good news, according to a small article in the i today £14,000 has been raised for that old man and his barber shop by people donating.
Why don't you do so then?
You're seriously going to call him out on that?
68 year old who was set upon in the riots has died in hospital. http://news.sky.com/home/uk-news/article/16048571
It doesn't seem like a good idea for the news website to post the name of the guy who would be incriminating the murderer and fellow criminals, as well as his two businesses.
You're seriously going to call him out on that?
Might as well.
Might as well.
Shit justification.
Shit justification.
Just like the riots.
because your dragging the entire country down on your laziness, but then again if i was in their situation i'd be happy with the benefits
Pretty sure it was a rhetorical question.
Those involved will lose their council house
Ooooooooh shit....
How would taking away their council house help this? Unless making poor people homeless counts as help.
Ooooooooh shit....
Ship em all off to Pakistan. That will get rid of all the EDL and BNP members for sure.
Ship em all off to Pakistan. That will get rid of all the EDL and BNP members for sure.
Pakistan will be glad to take a bunch of dangerous racists
Pakistan will be glad to take a bunch of dangerous racists
Don't worry, they can contain them and use their rage to generate energy.
A double standard. Quebec separatism is about keeping Quebecois culture distinct, and if I am not mistaken and you do indeed support the separatists then it's rather hypocritical of you to criticize him for wanting to preserve his country's culture while supporting the creation of a new one for the same purpose.
Better late than never: Quebec separatism is about getting away from a government that they perceive doesn't respect their culture. Not having your culture respected is a whole different thing than wanting to prevent other cultures from joining you. You only have to look at Quebec City and Montreal to see that Quebec is already very multicultural.
Has Pat Condells view of the riots been posted in here yet? He's obviously on the slight extreme side, he thinks that not only should their benefits be taken away, but their houses should be demolished. [editline]12th August 2011[/editline] Just in case [editline]12th August 2011[/editline] And the Amazing Atheist showed that he knows nothing about Britain or the riots.
The Amazing Atheist annoys me. He isn't entertaining and I disagree with him on a huge amount of things. As for Pat Condell, I think that a lot of the time he is really spot on (although sometimes he can come out with some stuff which is a bit different). I think he was joking about the houses being demolished, he might have a few slightly extreme views, but he's not an idiot. He wouldn't seriously suggest demolishing peoples houses as a punishment. I feel in that particular video he hit the nail on the head pretty much.

Good prevails as publisher joins public effort to help Ashraf Haz. Sony Europe marketing director Alan Duncan revealed the move in the comments section of a website set up to "do something nice for Ashraf Haziq", offering to replace the 20-year-old's PSP that was taken from his bag. In a video (below) that appalled the nation, looters were seen to steal the system from Haziq's bag as he stood bleeding in the street. "I'm the marketing director for PlayStation UK," Duncan posted under the username 'albinolove33'. "[We'd] like to give him a new PSP and games. Is it true that Wandsworth council is evicting a family from their house because of the son being involved in the looting?
Better late than never: Quebec separatism is about getting away from a government that they perceive doesn't respect their culture. Not having your culture respected is a whole different thing than wanting to prevent other cultures from joining you. You only have to look at Quebec City and Montreal to see that Quebec is already very multicultural.
Both sets of people want to preserve their culture, you can't honestly say Bill 101 promoted multiculturalism, nor does the separatist ideal. Matter of fact, Quebec even now does the best it can to oppress especially English and American cultures in an effort to preserve their own. Quebec tries to get its culture recognized by prevent other cultures from taking it over. In Britain, if their culture gets taken over completely, then they'd just end up becoming an America with a different accent, a nation perceived as "cultureless," despite the fact that America is far from. Immigration is, as I see it, supposed to be about moving from one nation and culture to another, and accepting that as you have gone somewhere new they are not going to operate as your old country did, and you should do the best you can to integrate with the new society. Issues arise when that doesn't happen, and when a new culture attempts to take over, as it leads to unrest and disorder from all parties involved, the new culture because they feel the need to be recognized and the old one because they want theirs to be preserved. Such an issue has lead to wars in the past, and will likely lead to more in the future, because often times both parties feel an entitlement to their respective culture, especially if there is a lot of it present, even if it is a foreign culture. In my eyes, allowing another culture to co-exist in one's country is no problem, but when it begins to rob that country of its own culture, then it becomes a problem. That doesn't mean necessarily you should oppress the other culture, or try to eliminate it, but it can lead to major issues with national identity, and can often only be solved through concessions to the one culture that tend to take away from the other. I see no problem in saying you want to preserve your culture in your homeland, and I see no problem in saying you want some recognition of your culture in a foreign land, however I see a problem if your culture begins to take over the native one, and yes, that includes our current treatment of the Natives here.
Wow I checked the Wandsworth Council site and it actually is true. Apparently we're punishing the families of criminals now. It's like I'm really in 200 AD!
So wait, are the riots still happening, or did the bad weather and the cops chase them off? It would be a shame to see Britain suffer another night of riots.
Taking benefits from rioters would make the problem even worse.
Is it true that Wandsworth council is evicting a family from their house because of the son being involved in the looting?
Yes.
Who said getting mugged didn't have benefits?
Clearly you've never been mugged so you can keep quiet.
Why don't you do so then?
well obviously I wouldn't cause I do need money for my own life. but I'd definitely help replace all the stuff stolen from him. I mean come on, why the fuck would you steal a kettle that's probably years old?
