To me he's always been Glen Beck's liberal alter ego. Still I'm surprised he made a video that stupidly uninformed.
I`m going to just go ahead and disagree with most of the posters in this thread. Personal I think it`s great to see people come together and stand up for something. I agree the way they are behaving is childish, but it`s good to see people be truly passionate about something. In a world turning to shit, run by computers and electronics, everyone moving through their days like the robots that will soon take over many of their jobs, it`s good to see people be human... Even if it`s through the means of inhumane actions. Stoned as fuck, those are my thoughts
Many of their jobs?
None of them work anyway.

Good to see them so passionate about property damage and looting.

Say that to the hundreds harmed, businesses ruined and homes lost you dimwit

The reason they went to the police station in the first police was a load of crap, stating they want 'justice' when in the fact Mark Duggan had an illegal firearm and was shot dead for a valid reason. Okay, fair enough, you're protesting for some reason, but then randomly ransacking a shop with your mates and robbing injured people?
Convicted Rioters should lose all benefits
Any persons convicted of criminal acts during the current London riots should have all financial benefits removed. No tax payer should have to contribute to those who have destroyed property, stolen from their community and shown a disregard for the country that provides for them.

Something should be done sure, but surely just yanking away their benefits and going lol owned would keep them poor and make them more likely to riot again
I meant at the start of it, I haven`t been keeping up with the whole riot shit, I just remember the start when everyone was up in arms about the police shooting an unarmed man, I hadn`t read about the ruthless beatings and I watched the video of the kid getting helped up then his shit jacked. I posted unimformed about the whole situation and made myself look like an asshat. I still stand by my statement but that`s directed at when it began not what it spiraled into. I`m not going to snip because I deserve the Dumb ratings. I also read at the start of all this that witnesses said Mark was un armed, and then magically in the police report he had a gun.

So you propose continuing giving them £100 a week of money they didn't do anything to earn and never intend to work to earn, after they're already fucked up the one chance they had.

You mean his "friends and relatives" stated he didn't carry a gun
can you link the news report saying there were unbiased witnesses?

Nothing is stopping them from rioting again even with benefits.
At least cutting the financial aid would discourage people from rioting.
Also, when I said their jobs I didn`t mean the unemployed criminals fighting because they`re pissed about losing benefits and not having jobs. I meant the middle class Americans that do their listless jobs day in day out so they can retire and die.

He was probably armed. The riots have never had anything to do with the shooting. There was a peaceful protest for that.

I propose that a rethink of social programs is in order because just taking away all their shit and going hahaha you shouldn't have fucked up isn't going to make them better people
It reminds me of when people think putting prisoners in a 4x4 cell with shit food and nothing to do will sort them out and make them good people
If you don't give them any money, the only possible way they have to survive is to steal.
Steal to live, steal to get revenge or even steal so they can go to prison where it's warm, you don't have to share a bed and you get shanked slightly less.
Be less reactionary and actually think about it for a little while.
The only positive thing that would come from that would be you feeling smug for a while until you get your house broken into.

They just should be locked in jail for a few years, then dumped in the middle of the Sahara.
Don't forget these people are causing havok, they are running amok, mugging and destroynig property.
It's time our country stops looking after its criminals. They need to be punished not rewarded (by being incarcerated or even having their rights stripped from them. All isntead of them given £100 a week).

The Guardian understands that initial ballistics tests on a bullet, found lodged in a police radio worn by an officer during Thursday's incident, suggested it was police issue – and therefore had not been fired by Duggan.
The latest developments come as one community organiser suggested the handgun recovered was found in a sock and therefore not ready for use.

They should be punished however the justice system decides, then given top-class rehabilitation and job-seeking assistance services

There are families who aren't eligible for much financial aid at all and barely manage to pay their bills, meanwhile these people are happily living in their council flats getting money from the government and get away with shit like this.
You people are completely missing the point.
I know this is a very emotional topic and something that hits close home, but get a grip.
He hasn't said anything about the rioters being good people, in fact he stated the opposite, and I agree with him. The riot itself is not good, yes. But it's good to see that can at least still practice mass resilience towards their superiors to show they are not completely submissive.
And the more I read into it the more I find out that this riot is no longer about the police shooting, correct, but, that was just the trigger for a governmental abuse of several towns for the last 30 years. Things like urging young folks to stay off the streets and find jobs yet making the education system in the area completely improbable for lower classes to achieve practically anything, let alone something like a degree thus essentially building up anger and frustration from lower classes themselves.
This isn't some chavs breaking shit for fun, sure there are some who do it, but it's not JUST that.
YES IT IS JUST THAT

JUST GTFO

These uneducated dimwits don't know anything about governmental abuse, all they know is "police are dikheds, ennit" and that's the logic that most of them run on.
YES, they are breaking shit for fun and setting buildings on fire. Once you've been affiliated with those type of people you learn about them pretty quick, trust me, they aren't rioting for any cause.
You don't know what you're on about.
