The clip the BBC are showing from a little while ago in Manchester shows a police officer with a baton actually hitting someone. First time I have seen that from any footage in the last few days, as bad as it sounds it is one of the ways to break up a riot.
why burn Greggs I need my sausage rolls! WHY!? WHY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just got informed from a friend that there was around 100 lads in Birkenhead ripping into the Pyramids and stuff, then got chased by coppers. Someone rumoured they are trying to rob a ferry :v: 90% most likely fake, but imagine how fucking funny it'd be watching a load of pre-teens try it.

So, now that the police are out the riots will stop, the police leave, riots start again. That's what I think might happen. By the way I've been gone for about 20 pages, has the video of the guy burning "Miss Selfridge" been posted?
If someone burns Gregg's down... all those helpless chicken bakes, and their family's OH GOD IT DOESN'T BEAR THINKING ABOUT
I heard that a 14-year-old kid was asked why he was rioting and he replied "I want my tax money back, innit."
I heard that a 14-year-old kid was asked why he was rioting and he replied "I want my tax money back, innit."
lol implying a 14 year old pays taxes
If someone burns Gregg's down... all those helpless chicken bakes, and their family's OH GOD IT DOESN'T BEAR THINKING ABOUT
The poor poor sausage rolls :(
I heard that a 14-year-old kid was asked why he was rioting and he replied "I want my tax money back, innit."
Oh god. In that case I want my tax money that went into his education back. (Admittedly I have paid very little tax / NI...)
Things like this have a chance of happening again with our soft police laws. We (the UK population) need to respect the police again, maybe not through fear but to be dettered by what could happen to you. People just don't care about consequences any more.
You live in bournemouth?
I go to Uni in Bournemouth. Sharing a nice little house 2 minutes from the (riot free) talbot campus, you?
Nobody gives a shit about the consequences any more because the "consequences" are not what they used to be.

Its also the reason that they wont call in the army or use anything heavy (tear gas grenades, water canons etc) because that just isn't what you do in this country. Also, the BBC are reporting that a street in Liverpool has been closed due to groups of youths gathering and causing trouble, in one of the areas that they did yesterday.
Nobody gives a shit about the consequences any more because the "consequences" are not what they used to be.
That's my point, they need to be changed.
I go to Uni in Bournemouth. Sharing a nice little house 2 minutes from the (riot free) talbot campus, you?
I live in a house. In ensbury park. Near west howe. Which is chavland. Woo!

If it got to day two the military would probably show up. It has it's pros and cons.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-14459127 Also, FUCK OFF WEATHER MAN.
That's my point, they need to be changed.
The "consequences" are fine
For anyone who knows Birkenhead apparently it's been done in by loads of rioters/chavs [editline]10th August 2011[/editline]
For anyone who knows Birkenhead apparently it's been done in by loads of rioters/chavs
AKA There goes my job
The "consequences" are fine
I am talking about the consequences of doing stuff like this, not about the prison sentence. Police Officers deserve to have a little bit more power when it comes to this sort of shit.
Was playing Killing Floor with some peeps, we ended up coming to the conclusion that Kf_WestLondon (With the zeds) is pretty much the same as what's happening right now.
I am talking about the consequences of doing stuff like this, not about the prison sentence. Police Officers deserve to have a little bit more power when it comes to this sort of shit.
Red tape seems to be getting in the way, like they can't just detain people at the scene to deal with stuff they have to be taken back to the police station and do paperwork etc which takes people away from the "main" job.
How's London doing? The BBC seems to be focusing entirely on Manchester.
Oh dear, apparently the fire station in Birkenhead is on fire. All talk for now though - trying to find proof.
How's London doing? The BBC seems to be focusing entirely on Manchester.
Not much, couple of peaceful demonstrations against the rioters. Now that the police are out there's not going to be much, but I suspect once they go back it'll start again.
How's London doing? The BBC seems to be focusing entirely on Manchester.
Quiet as hell apparently, it seems the flooding of officers has worked. Apparently some of the BBC team have been attacked in Manchester. I hate people who attack the media who are doing nothing more than showing what is happening. LewyJudge12: Apparently 4 people have been arrested in Birkenhead in relation to something happening at a McDonalds.
Four people arrested in Birkenhead
Fuck yeah. The riots are being stamped out.
