Which is retarded because they could go and say "this area no longer allows protesting, go to jail" The whole point of a protest is to annoy the government. If they can simply outlaw protesting in places they don't want to, what's the point? Instead of accepting more laws to stop protests, government should instead listen to protesters, but noo that is too good to be true.
I think I can understand where their coming from considering the huge population and the problems it can cause if too many people horde at one spot at once but I think looking at some few rapes and crimes due to hording and because of those closed cases you close it down little bit... is atrociously retarded.
The idea of protest and strikes is disrupting an industry or a society to force those in power to give what you want. Edit: When you are forced to go on strike only on the employers terms, the strike kinda loses its edge.
Well the problem is the mess they're making, a lot of the protesters seem to be complete slobs. If they kept the place as neat and tidy as the day they arrived I doubt many would have a problem with the protesters staying there. If the goal of OWS is to protest the rape of the US economy, then turning public land into a cesspit shouldn't happen, which is what a lot of people are complaining about. I'm sure it bothers a lot of the more responsible OWS protesters that other people within the protest aren't being responsible for maintenance of the site.
Occupy OP's house.
I'd like to see some stricter enforcement of this rule.
New rule: If you don't read the article and you make a dumb post about something that was explicitly addressed in the OP, you get banned. Shining example: http://www.facepunch.com/threads/115...1#post33939569 If you can't read further than the title, this section is clearly not for you.
In my opinion I think there should be a law stating that you cannot evict a protest if there was no rule or law forbidding them from being established there in the first place (such as a no trespassing sign or protection by law.) Then again... that might be a bad thing. There may be the possibility of that exacerbating the problem by pressuring private landowners and lawmakers to spam "No trespassing signs" and anti-protest-yet-somehow-not-against-the-First-Amendment laws until a protest matters little.
ffs, 'Sensationalist Headlines' means it's a forum for significant news that people will care about, it doesn't mean sensationalise the title to the point where it has nothing to do with the actual story.
I wasn't even this bad with my headlines.
not really sure how much i can trust 'world socialist web site' as a news source, i guess i'll have to wait for this to appear in something a little more well known but if it's true, the beginning of the very first corporate police state is at hand
WSWS is affiliated with a communist party in the US, the Socialist Equality Party. They have a student org at my university. WSWS is actually relatively well-ran and whatnot, but they are highly biased. They aren't in-factual, just sensationalist. Basically, don't trust them any more than Fox or Pravda.
Dumbest 06'er of the Internet.
(User was banned for this post ("Dumb sensationalist title (don't taking the section name literally)" - Starpluck))
Do not taking the section name literally, guys.
