Tea Party Alleges Double Standard by Occupy-Friendly Mayor in Virginia

the first thing I see is "glaber", the second "source: www.foxnews.com/..."
how many times are you beat over the head about your sources, it's been like half a year since I last went on a tangent at you
this whole situation, yes, can very well be biased on the part of the mayor, but it's lacking any meat to the situations. Like was mentioned before,
I can see why a major would be fine with allowing peaceful protestors set up camp as opposed to a group of of armed bigots

seriously, I'd prefer a peaceful protest even with the occasional bad apple trying to start shit than deal with the tension of having tea partiers in the same space. Even so, there is no governing force in the occupy movement, it is not an organization or party or whatever, and as such there is nothing to do in regards to taxes or anything; It's random people showing up for a long time to make a point known to everyone else. Grassroots in actuality, not just self-labeled like a fancy sticker to make it sound cool and make people support them.
What? The Occupy protesters have been far, far worse than the Tea Party.
yeah, there's brawling and pepper spray and rubber bullets flying everywhere
from the police

What investment do you have in LGBT rights in Alabama? Do you live there?
We are all Americans, what happens in one part of the country effects us all in some small way.
What LGBT rights in Alabama?
It doesn't.
It's more likely to discredit the Mayor of Richmond for showing preferential treatment to the Occupiers than to the Tea Party.
How would the government get a motley crew of unorganized individuals (compared to the tea party) to pay?

Employ Tea Partiers to shake them down like school yard bullies. The city gets their money and the Tea Party gets to satisfy their need to crush people beneath their heel.
It's win-win!

I don't know, but they did bail out that guy who threatened to burn down a Macy's.

I don't know about you, but if the Occupy moment is even that organized, Richmond can charge the Occupy movement for their Occupation.

How did they do that?
If the mayor sets bail, I think you've got bigger problems.

Glaber, You're not this dumb. A movement is not a legal entity, it cannot be taxed, billed, or do anything of the sort.
They can of course pool together money to bail out one of their own, that's a sign of compassion, something you and your ragtag band of godfearing patriots might find outrageous.
I'm not saying his actions represent the movement's, but considering the amount of police brutality and false arrests, I'd be willing to wager that this man was arrested on very little evidence.
The Occupy people don't even support the guy (they say)
“We won’t have anything to do with this guy,” said spokesman Ed Needham. “Certainly everything we do is centered around us being a peaceful and nonviolent movement.”
Oops, sorry, I read that wrong. self-rate bad reading.
As Miskav said, they can pool their money, but as long as they don't create a legal entity to do so, it's not organized enough to be taxed.
Hundreds of OWS protestors have been arrested and these guys are complaining about double standards?
