The only time my school ever closed for snow was the 1st year after I left. Bastards.
My school wasn't closed, I just phoned in and said I couldn't make it.
following up to 16cm (6in) of snow in some areas. Right... this is why im moving to Canada to get some proper ass snow, fuck this soft sprinkly shit...
snow kills more people than guns do in britain
snow is the arch-nemesis of british people
Why has there been so much snow lately? Japan, the US midwest, europe...
Uhhh here in wisconsin we got like 13 inches of snow this season and all that is left of that are the piles of snow from plowing parking lots and they are almost melted.
Go to Canada, see how we do things

A german shepard mixed with collie.

For once Scotland has little to no snow and it's business as usual here. It just wouldn't be winter without all the CHAOS from THE BIG FREEZE that takes us by surprise every year.
How is it possible that this wasn't posted?
It always makes me laugh when the news tries to be serious while showing clip after clip of people falling over
There's a rage comic where it goes through the wars that the UK has been in, each one saying something like "We'll get through it lads!" and "Stiff upper lip!". Then when it shows snow, they go "HOLY FUCK WE'RE GONNA DIE!" woulda be a appropriate picture to post...if I had it that is...
So THAT'S where all of our snow is going! We've only had snow for about 2 weeks in January. Now it all melted again.
Similar stuff happens when southern states like texas gets a inch or so of snow. No one knows how to drive in it and ends up crashing.
Jesus Britain sucks at snow
Apparently it's going to snow again tonight.
Yep There is a 100% probability of severe cold weather/icy conditions/heavy snow between 1000 on Thursday and 1000 on Monday in parts of England. This weather could increase the health risks to vulnerable patients and disrupt the delivery of services. Please refer to the national Cold Weather Plan and your Trust's emergency plan for appropriate preventive action.
Why are drivers such stupid wimps? Look at canada same latitude yet they don't care about the snow. Buy sensible cars, not all AWD cars are gas guzzling(prius, CRZ) rather than a beamer. But then again snow comes one month a year..
Update: It is now snowing very heavily where I live!
I hope we get some in Surrey. I know snow is chaotic but I do love it.

Don't they have studded/antiskid tires in Britan?
Don't they have studded/antiskid tires in Britan?
Iv seen one person use snow chains (the closest I have seen to proper studded tires), and there wasn't anywhere near enough snow and they just tore the road pieces. They still haven't repaired it properly and that was 2 and a bit years ago.
Eurgh, already snowing again, just as the ice/snow on the pavement had started to melt
I hope we get some in Surrey. I know snow is chaotic but I do love it.
Same, I love snow. Maybe its because I don't drive so I don't have to suffer it. Seems to be snowing a bit at the moment here anyway.
Don't they have studded/antiskid tires in Britan?
We have winter tyres, but for £100 a corner, people just use their all season tyres
It's more of a case of "it'll happen once a year" and only for a few days, normally a week tops. It just seems that it's been harsher than usual the past few years. I'm either hoping for a fuckload of snow, or all of the ice to melt, as the past 3 days here have just had solid sheets of ice over everything, as nearly all the snow has melted. I've fallen over several times, as I've had to go to school, and don't have any suitable footwear for the weather. (one pair of cheap schoolshoes and a pair of very cheap trainers)

I dared myself to walk all the way down it (normally a 2 minute walk) and after 5 minutes had to stop because I almost fell and I wasn't even halfway.
I fell over on the same road 4 times. :v: Watching me walk is hilarious, I have a crappy gait by default, and the ice is making me sort of sway after every step. I must look drunk to anyone watching.
