18 year olds aren't teenagers brosef they are legal adults brosef who have brosef legal power over their own intake brosef
Come on brosef, eighteen still has the world teen in it brosef, therefore they are teenagers brosef. Brosef. Even if you drink to the point of liver damage, your brain will still be mildly affected, that's the point of these laws. I don't mean you will have serious debilitating brain damage. And the last article talks about all the permanent affects of alcohol, if they drank to the point of liver damage and died, how could we know what OTHER affects alcohol has. :downs:
Come on brosef, eighteen still has the world teen in it brosef, therefore they are teenagers brosef. Brosef.
You're seriously arguing semantics when we're talking about legal standard of adulthood? I'm beginning to suspect you experienced these fetal disorders first hand.
You're seriously arguing semantics when we're talking about legal standard of adulthood? I'm beginning to suspect you experienced these fetal disorders first hand.
It's irrelevant if they are legal adults, no one treats them like such. They don't pay taxes, they most likely don't have a permanent job, so they aren't really adults are they? You can even rent anything larger than a barbeque for fucks sake.
I learned about sex when I was 9
At first I was like, 'this is too young' But then I remembered SEXTING and all that bullshit that's going on. You know what? This is good. If we remove the mystery of it while they're young maybe they won't fuck up.
It's irrelevant if they are legal adults, no one treats them like such.
The law does.
They don't pay taxes,
Yes they do. They may be a dependent but they do.
they most likely don't have a permanent job,
Speak for yourself.
so they aren't really adults are they?
Yes they are.
How many 18 year olds that are actually going to handle themselves with alcohol if they have a permanent job? If you are working full time by 18, you are either too lazy or too stupid to go on to college and therefore are probably too stupid to know how the fuck to handle themselves when they're drunk. I know a lot of people who are working full time, and trust me, you don't want them to be drunk walking the streets or driving their shitty cars. We don't want to promote 18 year old drunk drivers do we? Also, when I say pay taxes, I mean actual taxes, not goods and services taxes or the slap on the wrist that is part time job income tax. Also, the law lets them vote, but it doesn't mean they are fully developed. As I said before your frontal lobe is not developed until you are 20ish. So even if they can vote they still aren't a fully functional member of society.
Career =/= job. Some of us actually worked through college. I'd say that's p. adult.
This will probably have negative consequences in the beginning but may be beneficial in the long run. Teaching the current generation the whole picture after bits of sexual exposure and confusion over time may cause them to handle this new found knowledge immaturely or irresponsibly. I think if we leave a good impression on children at a young age and properly expose and educate them about sex and the way the world goes round it will increase maturity and responsibility. No telling how kids will receive this though, this hasn't been applied on a large scale yet. We're playing with the core values of worldwide society here; there is no doubt that most people will reject this in the beginning.
Also drunk driving is already illegal. 18 year olds get taxed at the same rates and proportions as everyone else every year. Your frontal lobe is not damaged by alcohol consumption at the age of 18.
Career =/= job. Some of us actually worked through college. I'd say that's p. adult.
Full time job means 9-5. If you are going to college full time and have a full time job, it means you have negative free time. Part time and full time are different. Full time usually means you aren't going through additional schooling.
You know this is the right thing to do when FP is actually accepting it.
You keep saying it stunts growth but you've yet to find stunted growth in anything more than a fetus. [editline]08:09PM[/editline]
Full time job means 9-5. If you are going to college full time and have a full time job, it means you have negative free time. Part time and full time are different. [editline]08:10PM[/editline] The fuck do YOU do for a living, exactly?
Also drunk driving is already illegal.
Yes but 18 year olds are more likely to get drunk in parties and such.
18 year olds get taxed at the same rates and proportions as everyone else every year.
I'm taking accounting, the amount you get taxed is based on how much you earn. Hurr durrrrrr. An 18 year old isn't making a 6 digit salary most likely, most likely not even a 5 digit one. So they get taxed less.
Your frontal lobe is not damaged by alcohol consumption at the age of 18.
Read what I said. [editline]08:12PM[/editline]
So everyone with a part-time job is a child? The fuck is wrong with you? [editline]08:10PM[/editline] The fuck do YOU do for a living, exactly?
The fuck are you talking about? 18 year olds are more likely to have a part time job, 30 year olds are more likely to have a full time job. Basic logic. I set up lights for commercials/movies.
Yes but 18 year olds are more likely to get drunk in parties and such.
And if they drive drunk they reap the consequences.
I'm taking accounting, the amount you get taxed is based on how much you earn.
If you had to take a class to realize that you're clearly not an adult with a valid opinion.
An 18 year old isn't making a 6 digit salary most likely, most likely not even a 5 digit one. So they get taxed less.
6 figures is not difficult to make on a part-time job. In fact even minimum wage on a part time job can hit 15-19k salary.
Read what I said.
I did, it was dumb and wrong. [editline]08:13PM[/editline]
The fuck are you talking about? I set up lights for commercials/movies.
Sounds like childish shit to me. I don't think you should have rights as an adult. [editline]08:13PM[/editline]
18 year olds are more likely to have a part time job, 30 year olds are more likely to have a full time job. Basic logic.
Logic of a child and as you have already determined you are inept and ill-developed because you have a part-time job.
And if they drive drunk they reap the consequences.
That's all fine and dandy, but tell that to the family of the deceased people in a car crash. Less laws on drinking = more drunk driving accidents. It's only logical. I suppose decreasing the laws would somehow decrease the number of accidents with your logic.
If you had to take a class to realize that you're clearly not an adult with a valid opinion.
You're a real idiot. I'm taking a class on something you obviously know nothing about, and you call me a child.
6 figures is not difficult to make on a part-time job. In fact even minimum wage on a part time job can hit 15-19k salary.
6 figures. 6 figures would be 100k up. Also, what kind of part time jobs are you talking about? MOST part time jobs pay less than 15 dollars and hour an offer 15-20 hours a week with little to no benefits.
I did, it was dumb and wrong.
Read harder.
Sounds like childish shit to me. I don't think you should have rights as an adult.
Wow it took me this long to realize you're trolling.
That's all fine and dandy, but tell that to the family of the deceased people in a car crash. Less laws on drinking = more drunk drive accidents.
Yeah that's not how it works.
You're a real idiot. I'm taking a class on something you obviously know nothing about, and you call me a child.
<-- Lawyer <-- Pays taxes <-- Understands tax law
6 figures. 6 figures would be 100k up. Also, what kind of part time jobs are you talking about?
Sorry I thought you said 5 because only a fucking idiot would say that a 6 figure salary is a requirement for being an adult. [editline]08:18PM[/editline]
Wow it took me this long to realize you're trolling.
Not trolling, turning your logic against you. Based on your subjective bullshit analysis of adulthood you think you can determine what rights people have? Guess the fuck what. I think you're a child, therefore you don't deserve rights.
Yeah that's not how it works. <-- Lawyer <-- Pays taxes <-- Understands tax law Sorry I thought you said 5 because only a fucking idiot would say that a 6 figure salary is a requirement for being an adult.
Who the fuck said that? [editline]08:18PM[/editline]
Not trolling, turning your logic against you. Based on your subjective bullshit analysis of adulthood you think you can determine what rights people have? Guess the fuck what. I think you're a child, therefore you don't deserve rights.
It's not how I think how adults should be treated it's how society thinks adults should be treated. Unless you have a house, a car and a full time job, people won't respect you as an adult, even if you legally are one. Somehow me having a part time job still makes me a child, which makes 0 sense considering. Also, you clearly don't understand tax laws since you said 18 year olds are taxed the same as full grown adults. It's not just a flat percentage, despite what you think.
Society can fuck itself. The entire reason we have a constitution is to keep the majority opinion from abusing the minority. Society does not decide what is and isn't illegal. ESPECIALLY when "Society" (you) think legal adulthood means having a 6-figure salary. [editline]08:23PM[/editline]
Also, you clearly don't understand tax laws since you said 18 year olds are taxed the same as full grown adults. It's not just a flat percentage, despite what you think.
I said rates and proportions based on dependency you nonce. I know it must be difficult for you to comprehend the notion that there is someone who knows more than you but you need to take a step the fuck back and read what kind of bullshit you have been saying.
Look at the pro-pot movement in America, they are loosening the laws on pot and the government can't really do anything. I definitely don't support it, and I can't say I see it working, however, that's society at action right there.

It is slowly being realized that mandating behavior is unconstitutional.
Dude I didn't figure out I could use my whole hand for years. I still feel like a genius for figuring that out.
...whoa...
ESPECIALLY when "Society" (you) think legal adulthood means having a 6-figure salary.
When did I say that? I said that 18 year olds AREN'T going to have a 6 figure salary and apparently that means I believe all adults have a 6 figure salary and you aren't one until you have one.
When did I say that? I said that 18 year olds AREN'T going to have a 6 figure salary and apparently that means I believe all adults have a 6 figure salary and you aren't one until you have one.
You said that they don't "sound like adults" and therefore they don't have rights over their own bodies.
I said rates and proportions based on dependency you nonce. I know it must be difficult for you to comprehend the notion that there is someone who knows more than you but you need to take a step the fuck back and read what kind of bullshit you have been saying.
18 year olds are more likely to get paid less, so they are more likely to get taxed less. 18 year olds are also less likely to support themselves so how the fuck can they know how money works. Most 18 year olds I know throw money out the window like an idiot. [editline]08:29PM[/editline]
You said that they don't "sound like adults" and therefore they don't have rights over their own bodies.
How can you make a quote without me even saying that. Doing a search for "sounds like adults" only turns up your post on this page.
Wish I was taught this when I was young. :[ Only thing I knew was that it felt good. :buddy:
18 year olds are more likely to get paid less, so they are more likely to get taxed less. 18 year olds are also less likely to support themselves so how the fuck can they know how money works. I guess the point is, 18 year olds know less about the world, those who do work full time and not part time are more likely to be slow or unmotivated (read: gangster) and therefore more likely to abuse alcohol. These are the people who you don't want on the streets, working full time, most likely living with their parents, so they have a lot of money to blow.
And how old are you?
If you make a lot of money, aren't quite moved out yet, and aren't in school, you're probably going to do something in your free time. It's only human nature.
