Valve registers GamerLifeTheMovie.com as GameTrailers teases reveal of 'non-videogame' Valve project

E-sports can be entertaining as shit if you know the game that's being played, and the game works for a tournament.

That's one of my all time favourite e-sport matches, even if people who don't play the game might have no idea what the fuck is happening. I couldn't watch a LoL or DOTA match and be entertained.

half life 3 movie confirmed
we already know valve is making the game they just haven't said anything about it
You guys seem to be so entitled to something that doesn't even exist yet as far as we know.
2 hours until it airs.
It's like they don't want to work on HL3 and they ran out of games to make.
Why does anyone think there needs to be a movie about the life of a gamer.
Gamers lives aren't that exciting.
Maybe they'll employ all that whacko mood and brain activity sensors they've been toying around with. I agree yeah, the our lives aren't terribly interesting, but while playing a game our brains are doing some crazy shit. number crunching, processing visual feedback and stimuli, running scenarios, forecasting predictions, writing plans, making snap decisions and adapting to changing situations in a matter of seconds, or in some cases tenths of a second.
Watching someone play is pretty dull, seeing what's going on in his head while they're doing it would be damn interesting.
what the fuck?
Its 1 am and instead of the gabe interview its Cheaters on.
Should hear something about a possible movie, but it could just be SFM.
Looks like it's confirmed. We're getting a documentary.
Guys I missed it, what happened?

Pro-Dota Players Documentry, some chat on Big Screen mode, and now they're talking about Source Filmmaker and they're going to show a CS:GO trailer. Check the HL3 general thread, we are talking about it there.
"You'll never get HL3 if you eat me"
A TF2 movie would have been at least acceptable(and pretty goddamn awesome, too), but this..
Bleughh
Looks like valve is really trying to not to start on HL3.
I quess my Toxx is my destiny :[

They're quite sad, with the people they cover.
Oh hey, I use the same CRT monitor than the guy in the trailer.
[sp]my set up is actually shittier than his[/sp]

I don't know, I remember seeing an old amateur documentary of competitive street fighter players during the late 90's-early 2000s. It was actually one my favorite documentaries I have ever seen because it was on a very personal level with some of these top players and their aspirations, along with informing how serious it can be and how it shouldn't be laughed at all the time.
Sadly the documentary doesn't exist anymore and it only played at certain fighting game events.
If valve does this right, and makes it not gimmicky or stupid I can see this being very interesting.
Well, it's nice to know that Valve are trying everything to get away from starting work on Episode 3, including creating things in other forms of media.

Episode 3 = DNF??
Episode 3 = DNF??
At least DNF had a trailer of the then version of the game within 5 years of development.
this looks really, really stupid
At least DNF had a trailer of the then version of the game within 5 years of development.
Don't you get it?
That was half the problem with DNF
Trailers should be made when you are sure the game is far in development.
God you people, Some people might actually want to watch this, but no, you assume every employee of Valve is working on this single documentary instead of Episode 3/HL3.
I mean fucking christ

because showing a bunch of pro gamers and their struggles through life, and struggles with their parents and showing the fact that most of them don't make much money is an ADVERTISEMENT right?
I was 10 when HL2 came out. Now I'm 18
This documentary looks fascinating. I look forward to watching it.
