What is wrong with money actually having a fixed value?
what since when does gold have a fixed value do you even check anything that you say or does it just spray out of your mouth?
Not completely true. He doesn't support government discrimination but he does not support legislation preventing companies from doing so
Still pretty dumb
what since when does gold have a fixed value do you even check anything that you say or does it just spray out of your mouth?
I would assume he means fixed to the value of a certain weight of gold.
You mean the one who has significant support from every part of the Republican party and now his own show on the one and only conservative network?
By that logic, Rush Limbaugh secretly runs the entire government from his radio booth... [editline]4th December 2010[/editline]
Because he wants to roll back civil rights legislation to before Martin Luther King. About all you can say for him is that he doesn't support slavery.
[Citation Needed]
I would assume he means fixed to the value of a certain weight of gold.
But the value of gold changes minute-by-minute. Quite significantly, even - it's nearly tripled in the past 5 years. http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=price+of+gold has some decent graphs
[Citation Needed]
http://www.lewrockwell.com/paul/paul188.html
However, contrary to the claims of the supporters of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the sponsors of H.Res. 676, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 did not improve race relations or enhance freedom. Instead, the forced integration dictated by the Civil Rights Act of 1964 increased racial tensions while diminishing individual liberty.

So you would rather us use worthless green paper instead. Why do you have a problem with the gold standard, and what could possibly be a better idea? Also, +respect to Ron Paul for standing up for Mr. Assange.
It's not like gold has any objective value. We assign it value because we like it/use it, just like with paper money.
He would most likely be against "government schools" (as he would most likely call them). It is not in the constitution that it is the government's job to provide education. He would most likely attempt to cut as much funding as possible. Libertarians often tend to be strict constitutionalists. Aside from that, I like some of his ideas.
He thinks schools should be left to the states. States already fund all public schools, and the federal government provides subsidies and such. He just wants to get rid of the subsidies.
By that logic, Rush Limbaugh secretly runs the entire government from his radio booth...
Rush Limbaugh isn't a wealthy public official who has run a presidential campaign and is rumored to do it again. [editline]5th December 2010[/editline]
He thinks schools should be left to the states. States already fund all public schools, and the federal government provides subsidies and such. He just wants to get rid of the subsidies.
Which is still ridiculous.
Arkansas GOP Gov. Mike Huckabee, who said this week that the WikiLeaks founder should be tried for treason and executed if found guilty.
And to think, he got pretty close to being president.
people still use 12-hour clocks?
Just keep getting dumber and dumber don-t-chya now?
And to think, he got pretty close to being president.
What I love most about that quote is the fact that Huckabee obviously doesn't know that Assange isn't American.
And to think, he got pretty close to being president.
So did Joe Biden. That scares me about an equal amount...
So did Joe Biden. That scares me about an equal amount...
No. No. Joe Biden said like a couple dumb things on camera. Every sentence that comes out of Mike Huckabee's mouth makes America a worse place to live.
So did Joe Biden. That scares me about an equal amount...
Joe Biden is an asshat but he isn't malicious like Huckabee beaten by Polopozozozozo
That's nice. He's still fucking insane, though. (Ron Paul)
Not really, he's one of the only politician who's said something that makes sense in like the past 10 years. [editline]6th December 2010[/editline]
It's not like gold has any objective value. We assign it value because we like it/use it, just like with paper money.
Gold doesn't have inflation or exchange rates to worry about though.
Joe Biden is an asshat but he isn't malicious like Huckabee beaten by Polopozozozozo
If you're going to pronounce my full name you have to do it right. It's POLOPOZOZOPOLOZOPOZOLOPOPOZOLO god can't you do anything right
Gold doesn't have inflation or exchange rates to worry about though.
Just pirates.
Just pirates. [img_thumb]http://depaolistudio.com/_images/uploads/pirates-goldL.jpg[/img_thumb]
No they prefer to steal items such as wine.
Gold doesn't have inflation or exchange rates to worry about though.
Yeah, it will. Even back in the 1800s, there were fluctuations in value between the Doubloon and the Crown, mainly because purchasing power parity is always changing. As for inflation, people mine for gold all the time. That would be inflation.
The fluctuations are small which is why gold is renowned for its stability.
The fluctuations are small which is why gold is renowned for its stability.
Not really. But good work trying to further tie our economy to stochastic fluctuations, as if it wasn't tied to those enough.
How can he be tried for Treason, when treason is defined as being disloyal to your country, and the US is not Assange's country?
Mike Huckabee said the US soldier who (allegedly) leaked the material should be tried for treason (and rightfully so, although the execution suggestion is stupid), not assange. Whoever wrote that source article is an idiot.
