Looking at the Vulkan (glNext) slides by Khronos, Valve is working on a debugger for it (slide 8), so it's more than likely they'll just show that during the glNext session. Source 2 might be mentioned, but don't expect anything.
Realized after posting, that the game in the debugger is actually Dota 2, so technically they could be like "here's out first Source 2 game using Vulkan in this debugger we built for it"
lol
If it is announced, I will shit myself.

It's GDC. Not E3.
I love how everyone is hyping over Half-Life 3 yet none of us have over 7 hours in a single Half-Life title it or even played it again after beating it.
Valve hired the creators of the original mod, I am led to be believe.
Isn't the story same with counter strikes/dods etc too
I love how everyone is hyping over Half-Life 3 yet none of us have over 7 hours in a single Half-Life title it or even played it again after beating it.
I have over 100 collective hours on the HL games and I play HL2RP every day.
[editline]3rd March 2015[/editline]
Something like 700 hours in gmod, almost entirely in HL2RP

Speak for yourself.
I was bored enough to pick out some highlights for ease:
First we have to ship
2011 - Portal 2
Then we have to ship
2012 - CS: GO
And then we have to ship
2013: Dota 2
So are we gonna see it or not?
2014 - Ah Ahaaaa
I love your knowledge of everyone's game hours.

You can't speak for us, so don't even try. None of us have over 7 hours in half life? Lolwut
The hype train is leaving the station at approx. 2:30 PM

so, 3 hours?
Different timezones are hard.
Other companies are showing off games at GDC.. why can't Valve?
I haven't seen any major game announcements yet. If you have any examples I'll be glad to change my statement.
Watch them spend most of the conference talking up the engine then they get to the last 5 minutes and have a single slide saying hl3 is coming and then they leave without questions
Watch as everyone becomes extremely disappointed at the lack of Half Life 3/Half Life 2 Episode 3.
Valve don't even have to say "we're announcing something special", people are literally grasping at straws:
3:00pm-4:00pm: Physics for Game Programmers: Physics Optimization Strategies by Sergey Migdalskiy (Valve)
It's at 3! on the 3rd of March, and march is the third month - IT MUST BE HALF LIFE.
PHYSICS! GORDON FREEMAN HAS A PHD IN PHYSICS - IT MUST BE HALF LIFE.
It probably doesn't help that news sites are hyping this up as well.

Visit better news sites, even Kotaku posted an article about it just being a physics thing and not a major event. Kotaku.
Will Source 2 have better physics?
New and improved breast physics, watch out DOA.
Why does it have to be a "major" game announcement? Regardless there have been several games announced at this years GDC, and I'm sure more will be unveiled as the event progresses.

Because I think Valve falls under the category of "major game developer". I'm not saying its impossible, just that its very unlikely because GDC isn't meant for announcing games and if a major game developer suddenly announces a big title at GDC it's no longer a conference for game developers but for gamers in general.
the whole March 3rd (3/3) and being at 3pm is pretty neat.
I've never really been one to pay attention to hl3 anymore since they don't talk much about it but I'm actually curious if they'll say something about it with all those 3's.

No, Valve even said this whole thing is a big mixup and it's just a talk about physics.
Just saw the Kotaku article. It's hilarious Jason had to write an article about it. Shows how out of hand the situation has become.

aw that's pretty dissapointing. they should've scheduled to be at 4 or 2 instead of 3 :v:
If they were announcing Half Life 3/Episode 3, they'd probably have a livestream of the events.
Closed door showings.

I don't think they control it, but GDC. And, well it might also depends on other devs as this is just one of a series of physics talks today, including Blizzard and Respawn. Originally only a joint sessions was announced and then it got broken up into separate sessions.
Im just wondering if they might mention source 2, or at least show it off. Well since it is just a game engine instead of a game.

Yeah I heard it was just gonna be some talk about "Anti-mass spectrometers".
How can they seriously not notice the 3/3 3PM thing after all the shitty internet memes, surely Valve knew and were just being cruel
