Damn I was really looking forward to a Half-Life 3 announcement at "Physics for Game Programmers: Physics Optimization Strategies".
Disappointment: the company.
Told ya it'd be nothing.

Are you psychic? WOAH!
Disappointment: the company.
They didn't disappoint today because there was nothing big to begin with. It is just the hype train that keeps accelerating and crashing over and over again, making people false hopes that it will ever arrive.

Laugh all you want, I'm not the one who got hyped over something as inane as the date.

You have no one to blame but yourself.
You have no one to blame but yourself.
I honestly wasn't anticipating a reveal, I've never played any of the Half-Life titles, I just thought the whole, "I told ya so," post was a bit condescending/unnecessary.
You have no one to blame but yourself.
You're kind of being a jerk.
Honestly, I would a higher chance of a reveal at E3 or something. GDC isn't really known for its game reveals.
You're kind of being a jerk.
Not really? He's right though.
Anyone knows what is this?

Valve shuts their trap and people still manage to hype themselves and get disappointed and bitter at Valve.
God
dammit.

It's not by Valve, that youtube account was a parody.

OK, thanks for information. The Verge mentioned this YT account in their article so i thought it was legit:

The thing you have to understand is that no one knows how to report on Valve news. There are many cases were news outlets report rumors or fake things as fact.
Not even a source 2 tech reveal? :(
Well, I guess I can wait for 3 pm 3/3/2016 for more news.
Or maybe 2033.
People expecting game reveal at GDC, haaaahaha...
the whole thing is a “big mix up”
a big mix up!? by valve!? woah!
a big mix up!? by valve!? woah!
more like taking big piss
guys if there's anything to be hyped about it's the nextGL presentation on Friday.
also is it just me or does the live updater guy on SteamDB suck, he's just like "well most of it's boring techy stuff so ignore" like thats the shit i live for

"By the way, you know who also optimizes physics? Gordon Freeman."
No one was expecting a reveal at GDC. They were expecting Source 2 reveal with assets from Half Life 3 and a proper reveal at E3 or something.

I'd honestly like to see more techy stuff too but seeing we have to rely on Twitter on information for today's stuff, physics talks aren't being talked about at all. Which is because it's really technical stuff that the general public won't care about so the people there won't tweet about.
I mean, this is the talk that came before Dirk's talk. There's no way some guy is live-tweeting his butt off with things like x = e−ζωt C1 sinωdt + C2 cosωd ( t) on the screen.
At least this shows the passion that the community still holds for Valve and their games, hopefully they will give us something as a "sorry"?

yeah, not your fault, just that guy sucks lol
its like what are you doing at a game developer's conference if you aren't there for the devs talking about game stuff

I'm doing the 'live blogging' and wrote that piece of text about the talks not being for us general folk (aka 99% of SteamDB's audience right now waiting for Source 2 info), the guys tweets that we embedded is probably having a great time but he's not there to tweet about it. There is no other guy. The guy that is our person on the ground during the expo is still on the plane as the expo hasn't started yet. :v:
Valve's still working on Steam Machines?
I thought that was scrapped since the companies like Alienware released their version but with Windows (Alienware Alpha).
