Movie sucked, and it's probably gonna win best picture too; while district 9, a munch better movie, will get completely snubed.
Yes but, with D9 being a munch better movie, wouldn't that imply that avatar was better, and D9 just sold more popcorn?
Avatar was a great film. I saw it at the IMAX in 3D and id go as far to say it was the best film i've ever seen. It deserves it's great success
Yet I still prefer District 9 over Avatar. Damn kids these days only notice what's over-advertised and has awesome special effects!
I enjoyed Avatar and District 9 equally.
I have highlighted what is wrong with your post.
There is NOTHING wrong with that post. They look somewhat similar to humans. Therefore, alright.
I'd just like to remind everyone that gross =/= quality. But I still liked the movie.
This is just unbelievable. I'll admit I wasn't so excited for this movie. I just wanted to see it for the 3D visuals. It turns out it was surprisingly entertaining, but no where near deserving enough for highest grossing movie ever. I'm no movie critique, but I'm sure it doesn't deserve this much.
How can something so mediocre make so much money? got to love the hype machine.
yep because repeat viewings are definitely the result of hype it's definitely not from a silly idea that people want to see it again and again no sir
It wasn't even THAT good. The effects were obviously amazing but the story is ripped right out of Disneys pocahuntis...
that isn't gold! that's CORN
It was okay. I frankly don't really see what the fuss is all about. It's not superb, but it wasn't terrible. It just felt incredibly hackneyed, for lack of a better word. The political undertones kind of turned me off after a while, mostly because of James Cameron's incredibly flat view on morality. Really, if I wanted to see a movie with just special effects, I'd watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. At least that had robots kicking the crap out of each other for a good two and a half hours.
Took the words out of my mouth.
Congrats Jimmy!
Told you there was no god.
