Trump threatens German carmakers with 35 percent U.S. import tariff

Tesla gets government money because he was the only guy that decided to make a company for high quality electric cars. Good electric cars are the future, so the government helped to kickstart it.

Now we have Chevy testing the waters with their Volt, and Ford preparing to hop in with several electrics. I'm not convinced that would have happened without Tesla making the first move.
