I don't know that a lot of transgendered people are going to be willing to use 'exception' rooms. I wouldn't. Also, what about gays, lesbians, bisexuals, pansexuals, and so on?
Call it whatever you want, the point is that it's an individual changing room for people who are not sure which room to go in, or would feel uncomfortable going in either. Gay, lesbians, etc would be able to do the same.
Why wouldn't you want to use individual locker rooms? Is there a reason you'd prefer to be with other people when changing?
So the transgender woman hadnt had srs surgury and was nude in a locker room? Thats a terribly bad idea. She should have like gotten dressed in private or something like behind a curtain.

This is the transgender woman: http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2015/03/08/2673D46D00000578-0-image-a-7_1425851897265.jpg
And she only went to the gym TWICE on her friend's guest pass, and she only used the locker room to hang up her purse and coat. She wasn't nude at all. The woman that got her membership revoked was trying to stir shit up.
she had only used the changing area on two separate visits to hang her purse and coat and to pick up her items after working out.
She added that she asked the gym staff about policy surrounding transgender individuals before she entered the locker room. ‘You can use the locker room that corresponds with how you are dressed,’ she said the staff member told her.
The gym says that Cormier has been talking about the incident with other people at the gym and she has been inappropriate. 'Planet Fitness is committed to creating a non-intimidating, welcoming environment for our members,' the gym said in a statement. 'Our gender identity non-discrimination policy states that members and guests may use all gym facilities based on their sincere self-reported gender identity.
'In expressing her concerns about the policy, the member in question exhibited behavior that club management deemed inappropriate and disruptive to other members, which is a violation of the membership agreement and as a result her membership was canceled.'
Planet Fitness Director of Public Relations McCall Gosselin told ABC News that Cormier handled the situation poorly. 'As our statement outlines, her membership was not cancelled as a result of complaints about our policy, as we welcome all feedback from our members,' Gosselin told ABC.

no sympathy at all for transphobes

You're right. Ban male locker rooms, only include seeing vaginas people don't ask for.

idk it's just common courtesy here to cover up with a towel, male or female.
though that's not what happened in this case, and that woman that got kicked out of the gym was kicked out with good reason.
If you really want to see naked people that bad, there's nude beaches and the like. Specific places you can go if you want to see naked people.
Typically though people don't often want to see naked people, particularly naked people they don't know, so be a friend and towel up.
On the subject of the two women at the gym, if miss trans lady was just hanging up her things without being nude at all, then yeah the other woman was kinda being very mean when reporting her, regardless of intentions.
I feel like locker rooms and the like should be separated based on biological sex and not gender. I don't see why someone who is physically male should be allowed to enter a womens locker room simply because they feel that they are a woman on the inside. The inside isn't what matters in this situation.

It's not even that she was being mean about it, from the Daily Mail article it sounds like she was trying to get others on her side, others who didn't give a single fuck.
But she said she did not observe anyone in the locker room who looked distressed.
Planet Fitness have not budged on the stance they took with Cormier.

I don't know what you're trying to say. In the context of both locker rooms and bathrooms, neither of those two uses really apply to LGBT people. I know which room I want to go in, and which one I feel comfortable in, and p. much any trans person also knows. What you're proposing sounds more like me being forcibly segregated in to a different bathroom/changing room while also not being recognized as I want to be. I hope it's obvious why I'm against that.
Also, that last question is loaded as hell. Why not have just single rooms? Is there any reason for anyone to prefer being with other people?

Disabled people don't feel they are being segregated and they have individual restrooms most of the time.
These rooms would be for example for trans people who aren't done transitioning and would have issues/make other people uncomfortable going into either rooms. The issue lies in the fact that people may be uncomfortable being naked in front of someone who appears to be of the opposite sex, so individual rooms would solve that problem for people who would have that issue in both rooms.
Trans people want to be able to choose their locker room because they are uncomfortable being in the nude or in underwear in front of people of a gender they don't identify with, not because they want to get naked with people of the same gender, that's not the purpose of a changing room. As a result I don't see why individual locker rooms would be a problem. The reason why you don't have just single rooms is cost, as I already mentioned. Of course, if it's not too high a cost, single locker rooms only would be preferable.
So going by that, I can buy a shell and green facepaint and then call myself a tortoise?
Humans don't have tortoise DNA or hormones. Humans do, on the other hand, have human DNA.
Hell, every human has the DNA they need to be female, because everyone has an X chromosome.
Moreover, every human starts off physically female. Being transgender can easily be explained as the result of not getting the full dose of hormones in the womb to give a male form, or accidentally getting those hormones.
Turtle hormones would require the mother to already be part turtle, which would require a secret race of turtle-human hybrids, which impossible for several reasons.
Train hormones would require trains to have hormones and deviantart to be anywhere close to reality. Both of which are several degrees more impossible than the turtle impossibility.

I had nothing to do with that gene splicing incident. nothing. Nobody found anything on me!

How so? From a practical standpoint that's the best solution and makes no difference for trans people. Or does being buck naked with other people offer some kind of advantage?

did you mean to have three different locations (Men, women, neutral) or just one? maybe I'm just a dummy and misunderstood
did you mean to have three different locations (Men, women, neutral) or just one? maybe I'm just a dummy and misunderstood
Three different ones, basically, with the neutral one most likely being single rooms, but having a common neutral one would be a possibility, I guess. That way you get the most isolation possible and thus annihilate the possibility of transitioning people having no room to go in.

Afaik they're much more insecure over there, while I don't think I've ever seen anyone put a towel around their waist here :v:

over here we're taught that a mere glance at a penis can turn a straight man into a gay man and a gay man into a rapist
Afaik they're much more insecure over there, while I don't think I've ever seen anyone put a towel around their waist here :v:
I don't think it's even kind of reasonable to just toss out the generalization of people being 'insecure' here, it seems like you're trying to take a really silly high ground with it. In all honesty, it's just that culturally we're on average more modest when it comes to nudity and sexual behavior.
now of course that's not 100% true across the board, but that's the biggest part of it
