Quick everyone, eat a bunch of bean burritos and aim your farts at China! Now we'll see who has the most gas.
The term you're looking for is whitewash actually.
It kinda needs to be done because of the yellow peril burned into all of your skulls. Edit: oh shit, china is destroying the environment, something that we have been doing on a much grander scale for ages, might as well paint it as full on aggression from China's part because every enemy of my enemy is my friend.

If that is the case, then I would like to point out the old parable, "two wrongs dont make a right."

However, this is not the case, China's threat here is a legitimately bad action.

You can't dismiss actions like that for any reason. Its not political bullshit, its a threat. Secondly the United States is actually making serious strides to becoming a greener nation. Portland, Oregon, the nearest Metropolitan to me, is the first or second (depending on your source) greenest city on the entire planet , only behind Reykjavik, Iceland, because they have 100% green energy and public transit that supposedly runs on hydrogen. We are trying to cut back emissions and carbon footprints all the time with cap and trade systems, alternative energy, trade in incentives (cash for clunkers), many attempts to ban dangerous chemicals, etc. You cannot call the United States a hypocrite on this one. The United States overall is making a push to be more green. And basically we are realizing we have to. That or put all of our money on NASA finding us a new home :v: China on the other hand, can't even get recycling down.
Well that's that; there is now a person who is legitimately a Captain Planet villain in the real world. Can we bring over Skeletor next?
Portland, Oregon, the nearest Metropolitan to me, is the first or second (depending on your source) greenest city on the entire planet
Is Portland really that green of a city? I've lived in the Portland Metro area for pretty much my entire life so I just kinda assumed it was an average city.

A lot of Oregon gets most of its energy from hydropower. To the point that we actually sell it to California during the summer (Air conditioners in SOCAL are a huge part of that). Portland area (as well as Corvallis, OR) are leaders in public transport/ bike transport. The whole bike lane movement basically started in Portland. Plus the whole industrial area kinda throws off peoples perception of Green but many of those are Green Building Certified. Also I don't know about any specific buildings in Portland, but here at OSU, there are amazing green technologies. The bicycle machines/ lypticycles generate power to the grid, and power the entire Rec building plus some. There is solar heated water (basically just water that is on the roof being heated by the sun in that same Rec building. The new engineering building runs its toilets off of rainwater. When you eat at any of the diners, you put your tray on a track that goes to the kitchen where they sort and compost anything possible. The list goes on, but Oregon in general is a great place to be green.
Wow, it takes balls to be that explicitly evil. At least some other companies are trying to be green, but the only reason they're doing it is to cash in on the whole Green trend. But this is just plain evil.

What exactly will this achieve if they don't get their own way? I mean, what is the point in destroying the Earth because you don't get a little bit of money for burning gas. Sounds quite childish to me.
I admit I was wrong in my second post before this, the first one still stands.
You mean the one where you call everyone who condemns the ransoming of the environment hypocrites? You dont really have an argument beyond the assumption that every last person in the western hemisphere is either polluting, or complacent.
I admit I was wrong in my second post before this, the first one still stands.
Your argument is that "the U.S. did it first so you can't complain!". The only problem is that the U.S. is no longer a literal pollution machine like China is.
