Turns out she was fired for moonlighting as an Escort
Turns out she was fired for moonlighting as an Escort
Allegedly.

The pictures are strategically captured to try and hide the tatoos but it would have to be a remarkable coincidence to find two of them in roughly the same area, with roughly the same design, as well as what appears to be the exact same ring. I could also definitely see being a prostitute would be exempt from any Nintendo policy that allows working for other employers.
Not to mention that immediately after this news comes out her site is suddenly down for maintenance.
Allegedly.
There are tweets from ~2012 with her and her husband talking about it. Plus their are a shit ton of pictures.
The tattoos match. [t]http://download.gamezone.com/uploads/image/data/1202012/busted3.jpg[/t]
man how the joestars have fallen
Turns out she was fired for moonlighting as an Escort
Source?
Turns out she was fired for moonlighting as an Escort
i can only wonder how some people will blame this on gamers, somehow. damn those gamers, making her break company policy.
Source?
Nintendo's official reason is that she had a second job. People started digging (or really, just looking at her twitter a little bit more), and discovered that she was/is an escort. Husband even helped her set it up too.
Source?
She had an alias called Maria Mint, there have been claims that one of her clients turned her in to Nintendo, though I haven't seen the original post by KiwiFarms (the people who have exposed this info). Also, there are a lot of similarities between Alison and Maria Mint:
If you want to confirm it yourself, the EXIF data of the pictures show that her photos and the "Maria Mint" photos were taken by the same camera.
This is getting too privacy-invasiony for me.
This is getting too privacy-invasiony for me.
The internet makes you rethink what "privacy" even is. If you post shit publicly, your privacy is dead.
If you want to confirm it yourself, the EXIF data of the pictures show that her photos and the "Maria Mint" photos were taken by the same camera.
Not even just the same camera. Same Lens serial info too.
This is getting too privacy-invasiony for me.
I agree with you, but if this information wasn't publicly available, we wouldn't be able to find it anyway.
Not even just the same camera. Same Lens serial info too.
As in individual lens identification serial? If so, and it isn't forged, then daaamn.
See this is what happens when you get people of questionable sane mentality in high profile and influential positions.
This is getting too privacy-invasiony for me.
As soon as she starts demanding victim bux for being fired for evil internet harrassment, i think its fair game to look at her public twitter account to figure out she's lying.
As in individual lens identification serial? If so, and it isn't forged, then daaamn.
I just checked myself to be sure, not forged. The photos directly from her escort website's database, and then photos directly from her Tumblr, same lens serial number: 0000713d7c. This is fucking infuriating because Kotaku and Polygon will never issue an apology for printing libelous articles claiming she was fired because of Gamergate. And in 3 weeks, everyone will forget about this and they'll keep on making money. And Nintendo doesn't have the balls to sue them for libel, nor her for slander.
I agree with you, but if this information wasn't publicly available, we wouldn't be able to find it anyway.
She was a PR rep for Nintendo, she exists in the public view. This isn't just some chick, it's somebody claiming she was fired because of Gamergate and misogyny when it turns out she was very unfit for the job.
My problem isn't that she was an escort, because that's her choice and the laws surrounding that should be changed so that its safer for those who want to do that. My problem is that she did that while working as PR for Nintendo, a company which on the whole goes for a family friendly vibe. Those two things don't really mesh. But then you have people crying "Misogyny! Gamergate!!!" while completely missing the point.
It's a shame she was fired for moonlighting and not for the pedophilia stuff, would have set a nice precedent.
It's a shame she was fired for moonlighting and not for the pedophilia stuff, would have set a nice precedent.
Have the crazies tried to defend this yet?
It's a shame she was fired for moonlighting and not for the pedophilia stuff, would have set a nice precedent.
I;m pretty sure the official reason is just a cover for the culmination of all of Rapp's other activities.
This is getting too privacy-invasiony for me.
I don't really see it. If this was anything like a private gallery then yes, but as far as I know, these are photos she willingly put up herself on a publicly available, no restrictions, basis. If they were trying to find her home address to match then yes, but all they've done is match camera info. If this was anyone else, like a programmer or an artist, this would be arguably bad (albeit her comments on child porn transcend any reasonable form of defense). However, she was acting as a PR employee, and posting these sorts of things on her account.
I;m pretty sure the official reason is just a cover for the culmination of all of Rapp's other activities.
Makes sense, Nintendo has no interest in pointing out one of their PR employees is a vocal defender of CP.
It's a shame she was fired for moonlighting and not for the pedophilia stuff, would have set a nice precedent.
Honestly it wouldn't because she didn't commit a crime, she just has terrible opinions and is vocal about them. Using that same precedent a conservative company could fire someone for being gay. Firing someone for opinions or beliefs isn't a good thing just because their opinions or beliefs are shit, because it goes both ways.
I;m pretty sure the official reason is just a cover for the culmination of all of Rapp's other activities.
From a business stand point, this is most likely the reason. But people tend to ignore that Nintendo is business that wants to maintain their image of being Child Friendly. If they just outright said that they fired a person for being the Pedophilia shit, I feel like that would hurt their image and loss potential sales. It's pretty much Business 101.
