Looks like an indie developer has cancelled his first Wii U game over this:
wait is this guy for real? you're willing to blow up your deal with nintendo just because you're unhappy with them firing someone? jfc
like how no one cared when the one guy talked shit about anyone who didn't like federation force or whatever it was and got fired but when a vocal pedophile apologist gets fired, all hell breaks lose shows what these people really care about

This is a girl with an attitude problem and an internet connection getting canned for saying awful things on the internet, so obviously the fedora lords are gonna swoop in and it's gonna go all to shit there. At least that's what I'm assuming. I really hope it's not because people are upset that a pedo apologist is rightfully being shit on.
Now someone better do a full check and clean up over at Treehouse. Bill is the only one who's left that has continued to make any noteworthy contributions.
So I guess this Brandon guy likes child pornography or something?
"he doesn't agree with me, must be a pedo" wow guys
"he doesn't agree with me, must be a pedo" wow guys
You can't imagine what refusing to develop games for the wiiu because they fired a PR manager moonlighting as a pedo apologist has anything to do with pedophilia?
I think it's more of the likes of him being an idiot and thinking she's been fired because of GG
You can't imagine what refusing to develop games for the wiiu because they fired a PR manager moonlighting as a pedo apologist has anything to do with pedophilia?
idk man we are we really gonna try and go the way and imply that anyone who disagrees with her being canned are pedos/pedo apologists. seems like a really slippery slope note that i responded to the guy who posted "So I guess this Brandon guy likes child pornography or something?" not the tweet
jesus christ, what a fucking joke
jesus christ, what a fucking joke
[t]http://i.imgur.com/Ma1sWQP.png[/t] :why: [editline]•[/editline] http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/03/31/nintendo-terminates-fire-emblem-fates-spokesperson
A Nintendo representative denied that Rapp's termination was related to the controversy, providing the following statement to IGN: “Alison Rapp was terminated due to violation of an internal company policy involving holding a second job in conflict with Nintendo’s corporate culture. Though Ms. Rapp’s termination follows her being the subject of criticism from certain groups via social media several weeks ago, the two are absolutely not related. Nintendo is a company committed to fostering inclusion and diversity in both our company and the broader video game industry and we firmly reject the harassment of individuals based on gender, race or personal beliefs. We wish Ms. Rapp well in her future endeavors.”
Anyone who will cancel development of their game over this probably wasn't going to make anything worthwhile anyway
Has anyone else noticed the Avalanche community guy, Jose Abalos, asking her if she'd be available to move to Seattle, or California? Apparently they're sympathizing.

Wonder if this has something to do with it.
jesus christ, what a fucking joke
Remember folks: It's easy dissect every image of butts or boobs for evidence of rape culture while blindly defending people who want to legalize child porn or talk about grooming their 8-year-old relatives when you're a small-minded sycophant with absolutely zero integrity.
Wonder if this has something to do with it.
The irony if it was some sort if porno or something. What other job would conflict with Nintendo's "corporate culture"?
jesus christ, what a fucking joke
Not even supporting children or families, the demographic Nintendo aims for? What the fuck?
I'd like to think the internet personalities gathering in her support are on a list somewhere in the FBI's Violent Crimes Against Children program.
I'd like to think the internet personalities gathering in her support are on a list somewhere in the FBI's Violent Crimes Against Children program.
This is a dumb line of thinking
jesus christ, what a fucking joke
They backpedaled:
I'm friends with someone who was about 13 at the time he lost his virginity, to someone that was around twice his age. Right from the get-go, people would be quick to say he was raped, that he should have gone to therapy, that that woman should have got arrested, and that the situation is in no way good. It's the inverse. He approached her about it and he was ready to have sex. He wasn't scarred for life or taken advantage of. It wasn't abusive. It was what it was and it was actually a really important expression of trust and learning.
This is just speaking from what I've read and heard certified psychologists say, but that probably caused him psychological issues he's not even aware of (which is almost always the case with sexual trauma) or he already had some underlying issues that compelled him to seek that out. He could be a rare exception but that's pretty unheard of, not saying it can't happen though.
Yeah if you're a 26 year old adult and a 13 year old approaches you for sex you should not be taking them up on that offer.
The irony if it was some sort if porno or something. What other job would conflict with Nintendo's "corporate culture"?
I was thinking the exact same thing but we'd all know by now whether or not she had leaked nudes, starred in a porno, etc, and obviously nothing of that sort hasn't turned up at all; if it did, it would further blow this case right up, Alison would be made a laughing stock for both sides (probably), and NoA would sweep that shit under the rug immediately instead of the relaxed approach they took.
just being hired by a company does not mean you automatically represent them, that's why PR people exist. edit: i wasn't aware that alison rapp was a pr person so haha egg's on my face i guess. i still think this is horseshit tho. i know everyone is gonna celebrate this like it's some sort of victory but campaigning to get getting private citizens removed from their job over some petty political disagreement is one of the worst trends in online activism i've seen. it's terrible. you could very well be endangering someone's life as well as their family, anyone who relies on them. having your primary source of income ripped out from under your feet is a hell of an experience, extremely scary. but that doesn't matter because alison rapp made a paper that challenged the public's perception on a touchy social issue, right? i don't really care about alison rapp or her politics. i'm sure someone will have the gall to spin this post in such a way that suggests i support pedophilia by proxy by saying that alison rapp shouldn't have been fired but what exactly about this ridiculous campaign is any better than doxing? at least with doxing people typically just get prank called, this was an actual, malicious campaign to get someone fired. w/e. i think this is fucked up but that's just me.
No??? We're not advocating for her to get executed via electric chair, she was doing a bad job and presented a bad image for her company. [t]http://puu.sh/o0oIK/d1d14d9115.png[/t] She will find a new job, continue on with her life and we probably never talk about her again. The earth continues orbiting around the sun, the world moves on.
They backpedaled:
Now they've gone radio silent.
Alison Rapp is trying to claim Nintendo is lying, I have a feeling this is going to end poorly for her:
