I've always wondered why Europe has higher gas prices than North America... is it simply population or that they don't have enough chances to get oil? :/

The netherlands is a tiny country though. australia is like a million times bigger, so we have to use heaps of fuel driving around. Sydney is huge for a city.
In the UK petrol is around £1.40 so that is like $2.28 so this is hardly that bad.

I thought I had it bad with ~€1.50/Liter.
My dad owns a gas station. We get all the free gas we want :smug:

No you don't. You still have to pay for the cost of the lot that was deposited into the reservoir of your gas station.

no silly gas stations don't buy gas
people buy gas from THEM
silly
But to be serious don't gas station owners just pay a flat rate for a subscription to gas delivery
I remember hearing that
holy fuck 1.37 that's cheap as shit.
we pay like 2.10 dollars in Norway.
holy fuck 1.37 that's cheap as shit.

I thought Norway was paying the equivalent of like $7USD/gallon
Just a note for everyone, Google can do the currency and unit conversion all at once. You can type for example, 1.29 Canadian dollars per litre in American dollars per gallon and it will work
UK is paying £1.40
Ireland is paying €1.50
Deal with it.

Sharing gas prices is fine but telling other people to deal with it is hypocritical unless you have the highest gas prices in the world
And before you say "so what?", this is per liter. If it were per gallon it would be 5.42 US dollars
well joke's on you for using the inferior metric system
ours is $3.25 a gallon
edit: before you get all butthurt this was fucking sarcasm okay
edit 2: we don't complain as shit about our gas prices, sure we bring it up all the fucking time in congress, but we suck our shit up and pay it. gotta pay the cost to be the boss

godfuckingdamnit i knew you people wouldn't read the damn edits
$1.37
Does that mean that Canadian Dollars are worth more than United States Dollars? Because here in America, we have to pay around 3.50-4.00 USD for a gallon of gas.

But i get free gas. And so does my mom. Ah what do i care. Sooner or later were gonna need to pay for gas.
Vancouver also has an excellent public transit system.
For those of you wondering; the main reason gas is more expensive in Europe is because of the special taxation on fossile fuels. In Sweden about 85% of the price (which is currently at about $9.3 a gallon) is CO2 tax and VAT.
in sweden the fuel price is about 2$ - 2.5$

That seems like a harsh tax, considering that you breathe out the substance.
But this is Sweden we're talking about.

Buses in North, West, and Downtown Vancouver are always late. Surrey and Burnaby buses are always on time :/
But the skytrain is perfect, it takes you everywhere

This sort of taxation is kind of pointless when the nation it applies to represents less than 1.3% of the world populace.
$0.98 per litre where I live.
