facepunch: where economics is measured in video game prices
Considering this is a video game enthusiast website it really isn't that far fetched to mention how it will affect the pricey hobby.
Harper spends his entire reign building up oil and putting all our chickens in one basket. Liberals come around and start checking all the other baskets while the eggs spoil. Nobody gets eggs.
Those eggs can spoil. We have much larger problems and more viable resource markets to look into right now.
The whole oil industry can burn to the ground for all I care, if it means we get renewable energy. It's high time we diversify anyways. Pretty sad we're still a resource-based economy when we can barely compete.
The eventual Oil crisis should knock everyone down to the same level a bit :smug:
Well this is a video game forum. And paying $80 cdn for a $60 usd game when they used to cost $60 cdn while the quality of the games seems to be going down isn't really that enticing.
Fallout 4 is $110 AUD (~107 CAD) on steam, GTA V is still $103 AUD, I know how you feel. At least you don't have to pay exchange fees as well.
The eventual Oil crisis should knock everyone down to the same level a bit :smug:
It would cause our modern civilization to collapse. We get plastics from oil as well. And plastics are pretty much required for modern civ... So it's not just 'knock everyone down to the same level' it's 'global civilization will be turned upside down'.
oh fuck we're gonna be poor
That's what happens when the stupid government relies to much on oil and gas instead of renewable sources and other resources. [editline]8th December 2015[/editline]
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. Everything is so god damn expensive right now.
I know I bought a hard drive on Black Friday because my old one was dying and it cost $120 in the Us and cost 240 dollars for Canada even on Black Friday! I can't imagine what the regular price was. [editline]8th December 2015[/editline]
$80 vidya games pls no
Just buy old games or play indie games most of the new games aren't even worth playing anyway.
$80 vidya games pls no
I wanted to buy Far Cry 4 when it came out and thought it being $70 was just Ubisoft being retarded but then GTA was $70 and now everything is $80. I swithched to PC gaming under the assumption that games were cheaper because there was a point where they were.
Sometimes I wish I could move to the US but then there's Trump and.....yeah that's pretty much it.
We might have to sell the house and move to the cheaper side of town, whys everyone blaming the liberals they have only been in power for a bit over a month.

RBC is charging 39 cents on the dollar for conversions to USD.
I'm heading to the states at the end of the month so I went to the bank yesterday to convert some money. $500 CAD only got me $358 USD. $142 eaten up by the exchange rate and bank fees never to be seen again.
So really Justin Trudeau's catchphrase should've been "because it's 2004"
So really Justin Trudeau's catchphrase should've been "because it's 2004"
And just how is this his fault when the dollar was dropping in value long before he even started fucking campaigning for office???
And just how is this his fault when the dollar was dropping in value long before he even started fucking campaigning for office???
I don't know.

Hooray for foreign investment
Maybe the PC's in Alberta (The economic driving force of Canada for the past decade+) shouldn't have invested everything in to oil.
