Well...
Holy fuck that guy was fast.
I feel bad for the dog but I don't think the cop did any wrong in shooting it.
I apologize for the retards shouting at the officer on the sidelines there, not everybody is that fucking dense in NY.
Im siding with the officers in this one they did the right thing, watching the video makes it clear the dog wasnt going to let anyone near the owner to help him and it attacked one woman and tried to attack the officer. The dog is still alive btw it wasnt killed luckily but even if it had been the officer was in the right. And that woman in the crowd jesus christ shut the fuck up hes trying to save a mans life.
If I was the cop I would just stand there until the dog bit some more people and would go.
"Oh! Now you want me to shoot it? I thought I was a brute, a cold blooded killer, but now you want me to shoot it? Well fuck you!"
Then me and the dog would become best friends and ride off into the sunset. Good thing I'm not a cop either. :downs:
Seriously though ignore the "taser" or "brutes" comments they can be dumbasses on the internet but it won't change a thing in the real world. Cops will shoot to protect wether it be man, dog, cat or a very menacing newspaper. They don't discriminate, they protect your sorry asses every day and some even die to protect you.
glad the dog was alright afterwards, fuck that cop for saying the dog should be put down after he shot it. too trigger happy imo, but it was somewhat justified.
Somewhat justified? Are you serious?
There wasn't an option. If it comes between a dog's life and the condition of my arm, I am going to do my best to fuck that dog up. Getting attacked by a dog is really not cool.
Well, in the end everyone was ok and fine, so it's good. Owner is good, dog is good and so are the cops. Win win.
Oh god that sound the dog made....
what bothers me is they didnt put the dog out of its misery, if ur going to shoot an animal at least dont make it suffer because thats just unproffesional and makes u the real animal
n/m just read the dog survived, and is taken care of
glad the dog was alright afterwards, fuck that cop for saying the dog should be put down after he shot it. too trigger happy imo, but it was somewhat justified.
i hope you never get a job that involves public safety
Rah, wouldn't tasing it have been a better idea? Do these cops even carry tasers?
Tasers cost more than bullets. Besides I'd rather not take the risk trying to shoot a dog with a taser, have it miss then have me or someone mauled to death.
fucking cunts abusing the cop, what should he have done? been mauled to death? He had the smallest amount of reaction time to decide what to do, he did the most obvious thing

When ever a cop uses his gun there's always going to be people like this, no matter the situation
I know a some people will disagree with me but I believe a human life is more important than that of a dog. As for a taser option, it would not stop the dog for long, even if it scared the dog away you would have a potentially violent dog roaming the streets.
I am a biologist and I love animals, but I would shoot even the sweetest dog if it meant I could potentially save a human.

I think, deep down, most people would agree with you. This isn't a case of animal cruelty or a trigger-happy police officer, this is a case of the officer doing what he had to do to save the life of a potentially dying man. Even if the dog had been killed, the shooting was justified.
I woke up today and changed my mind.
The dog was a danger to the police, and even the man, although it didn't know what it was doing was wrong.
And damn, it was still kicking after getting shot, persistent as hell.
Why is there a woman shouting complete bullshit in almost every single one of these clips? This one, the one where that guy behind the counter was getting beaten up by two girls at mcdonalds or burger king and more that I can't think of off the top of my head.
I'm starting to think it's the same woman.

You're right. You undercovered it all; all these dog attacks have been perpetuated by the same lady, using different accents and languages, in order to attract attention to the plight of pitbulls! Good work, detective.
Since there was a crazy shouting crowd, it seems like the bystander effect does not apply when animals are harmed
Human beings are so tired of each other that they sympathize with animals more

Oh god not with the tasers again.
You can't expect an officer in front of a fast moving directly threatening target to pull out his taser and fire it at close range, especially not with a very angry dog running towards you.
Plus it's a dog, tasers are designed to hit human beings. It would probably kill the dog or just barely hinder its movements.

Not to mention that you need both barbs to hit the target, at that range, even both of them hitting a human was unlikely, let alone a dog.
It's awful that this happens but every time I scroll by I read Dog shoots Cop

They aren't all dog attacks though. I think it's a pretty good plot of a t.v show or movie. A woman that goes to places and purposefully incites crimes so she can get her voice heard. I haven't thought of a motive yet.

She's a utopian socialist who believes all culture is far too capitalized and is leading towards an Orwellian future.
I do believe that the cop may have been right to shoot the dog in self defence, but instead of provoking the dog by trying to get close to the owner, they could have explored other options like getting trained specialists to deal with the dog.
Even one of those cops can be seen using those pole things that go around a dogs neck, they could have at least tried to use that while approaching the dog, still though, I am glad to hear that the dog is still alive.

When a guy is having a fucking seizure on the sidewalk there isn't much time to "explore" methods of removing the dog.
Another case of damned if you do damned if you don't.
The dog was obviously a threat, if he didn't act that quickly and the dog upped and mauled an officer or a bystander, the cop would again get the blame for doing nothing rather than shooting it.
People are so fucking stupid and up in arms about something they don't actually use their brain about.
Sure, you just sit there and concoct a huge plan on sorting the dog out when it is charging you, you do that but don't come crying to me when you have teeth sunk into you.
i read as "dog shoots cop" and started laughing
I mean the dog went after a woman before it turned for the cop, it obviously didn't give a shit who was near it or its owner.

Reminded me of that one hunter who dressed his dog in a little cute hunter outfit, put a rifle on his back, then the rifled slipped and hit the ground which somehow discharged it and killed the hunter.
This was hard to watch...I thought the dog would die instantly but he was suffering for some time :(
