:cawg:
Wow I did not expect an update.
This x1000
Wow this guy is still going? How the hell...
Wow this is interesting, perhaps we dont know as much about the human body as we originally though. Even if he drank bathwater, I am sure someone would have caught on to it. And he would have to relieve himself if he did, which he clearly isnt doing.
Maybe he was ACTUALLY bestowed the power to not need food and water by a goddess.
If you record it happening for 2 weeks.
What he supposedly is doing still violates basic biological laws, there's no way he isn't faking it somehow.
Maybe he was ACTUALLY bestowed the power to not need food and water by a goddess.
It would take a lot of luck to get that to be accepted by the medical and scientific communities. If it does turn out that way, and it is proven in that direction, then the entire scientific community will crap its pants, then promptly wipe up and attempt to study the "newly" discovered gods, which may cause weird problems if the gods don't want to be studied.
That guy is fucking hardcore.
The interesting part of comparing him to a plant, is that plants need dozens of gallons of water for transpiration. Mean while, he apparently needs none.

I think they should have studied him for longer, also I'd like to learn about this guy a bit more, hope ge writes a book or some shit.
Even if he did figure out a way to survive without food or water, I'm sure he's not very strong, and is very frail and weak.
Any idea on whether or not they will continue to study him?
Even if he did figure out a way to survive without food or water, I'm sure he's not very strong, and is very frail and weak.
Yeah but he's still surviving without food or water no matter how frail he may be :psyduck: [editline]02:28AM[/editline]
If I said I could do this because Jesus helped me the posts would be universally, "The man's a crazy nut." But since he has Eastern mystique going for him, as well as him saying he's just special in this way, there are a large number of posts going, "This could be true."
It's because he's being monitored are you thick or something

That's got to suck really, one of the finer points of life is tasting and eating food and drinking, If i could survive without eating, I still wouldn't unless I had too.
i guess this guy made the news back in 09 [editline]11:35PM[/editline] he was on a discovery special at least [editline]11:36PM[/editline] skip to 4:08 for his explanation
What he supposedly is doing still violates basic biological laws, there's no way he isn't faking it somehow.
Well then, I think we'd all like to learn how to fake it.
He still needs food :psyduck:
You can live 15 days without food. Still, this is really strange.
He is the man!
I hope they figure out what he is actually doing. Either that or we apparently have one god that exists and it only gave the power to one man to..not eat...
If it's true he doesn't look like the healthiest guy around. Certainly not fit for a soldier or workers tasks
If it's true he doesn't look like the healthiest guy around. Certainly not fit for a soldier or workers tasks
thats because hes old. he says hes been doing this for 70 years when he was younger.
I'm bumping this because it's just so awesome :) (User was banned for this post ("Bumping with nothing to add" - SteveUK))
I call bullshit.
So do I. So does PZ. In fact, as the blog reports, there is both signs that he's passed stool and urine and is suffering from starvation. In other words, faker instead of fakir, pardon the pun and mixing of religions (fakirs are muslim ascetics). http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2010/05/physiology_explains_it_all.php
Holy shit, man.
If he does, that is
http://scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2010/05/physiology_explains_it_all.php
I knew it
He's using the body's natural ability to be an extension of the mind. You can actually replenish yourself through spiritual practices. You don't actually think some Goddess blessed him. He's a normal human who has been shown to be extremely in tune with some sort of 'supernatural/paranormal/ethereal' source. Why do you think a huge % of the world practices Buddhism, as oppose to religions that don't provide any benefit for the mind or body, let alone both....

There's no Qi, there's no life energy, vitalism is totally irrational.

I'm saying somehow he has used his mind or brain or conciousness or some defining characteristic or routine by which he sustains himself on something that IS there, but is NOT apparent.
