• Anger as Wikileaks releases all US cables uncensored

So, now the people named in those cables are going to suffer and/or die because of WikiLeaks and the associated god complex of its users. Plus, their legions of blind followers will back them up whatever they do. Wasn't there a story on how WikiLeaks had a leak of its own? Or is this it?
I want to prank call the pope now.
The dead pope?
Well, at least this shows who's competent enough to properly handle documents of this magnitude. Nobody fucking is!

Ok, can someone tell me what the fuck a Cable is? I always thought it was a kind of wire and I can't make a relation to thiss.
And who gave the guardian the password with the wrong instructions as to what it did?
Why do you think Wikileaks is preparing a lawsuit against the Guardian? They trusted the Guardian and agreed to a deal which was to give them the leaks but could only publish a cable once it went through joint editing and was cleared by Wikileaks. The Guardian violated this deal by publishing all the leaks they received, unredacted. Its pretty clear the Guardian is trying to use this as a distraction to try to deflect any criticism they get onto Wikileaks instead.
Ignore Amute, he never actually has a real point. He just hates any and all forms of authority anywhere. There is nothing that you can say or do that will make him do anything other than blindly yell shit about the US government being evil/stupid/imperialistic. We can all save ourselves a headache and just ignore him.
A few months ago he left 6 insulting messages on my account page. I've deleted them, though.
Transparency is fine when handled properly? Define.
The moment you put people's lives in danger it's been mishandled.
The moment you put people's lives in danger it's been mishandled.
I've heard this said before about Wikileaks leaking shit, saying that informants and sources will be put in danger, and I remember nobody dying as a result, so I think it's unfair to say people will be killed as a result until it happens.
Dammit Wikileaks. God dammit. When I put yes to releasing the files on that poll, I expected that you would continue your tradition of redacting sensitive personal information. This is reckless and stupid. I have lost respect for Wikileaks.
I never liked wikileaks, and like them less now.
Blame the Guardian. Those idiots released the password for the archive containing all the cables. There was no point in spending the time to clean out the names in the cables and protect identities. They might as well just release all the cables.
Its someone who works for the Guardian, not the Guardian itself. Its an important difference IMO.
And who gave the guardian the password with the wrong instructions as to what it did?
According to the Guardian wikileaks informed them the password would expire and not be accessible after a set period of time.
I don't want to be the dick of the moment, but I find that joke in bad taste. I mean, I agree with Wikileak's philosophy that corporations and governments should be transparent and open, but I also believe that each individual person shouldn't have to face personal harassment as a result of transparency. I personally don't know the Pope, but I can infer that he's a pious and genuine man. Does his ascendance to the most respected position of the Catholic Church mean he should be ridiculed and disrespected? Just my $.02
actually the pope is a tremondous dickhead who spends his time whining and spreading misinformation amongst the african population all while dancing around serious legal issues and human rights [editline]2nd September 2011[/editline]
;32079150']I never liked wikileaks, and like them less now.
That's funny, that's what I think every time I read one of your posts. Minus the Wikileaks part.
Oh dear.
When you make a claim with no evidence or anything to back it up, chalk any dissent as a bandwagon and completly ignore ANY arguments against yours - your silly little bandwagon theory kinda falls flat on its face. [editline]2nd September 2011[/editline] Also, actually argue a point.
I've heard this said before about Wikileaks leaking shit, saying that informants and sources will be put in danger, and I remember nobody dying as a result, so I think it's unfair to say people will be killed as a result until it happens.
That was when a few files were accidentally released uncensored, now they're just releasing all of them uncensored.
;32079003']A few months ago he left 6 insulting messages on my account page. I've deleted them, though.
Oh they weren't that bad you big baby. [editline]2nd September 2011[/editline]
The moment you put people's lives in danger it's been mishandled.
Can you name one single person who could possibly be put in danger by any uncensored documents ever released by wikileaks. [editline]2nd September 2011[/editline]
;32079150']I never liked wikileaks, and like them less now.
You're also a tea partier, you aren't exactly high up on the scale of people to go to for analysis.
I'm not happy about this, but at least the government has something at stake now. This is real pressure.
They did this because someone leaked the files(the Guardian apparently) so since they were out anyway they might as well do the same. Still fucking dumb, they should have kept them and let the Guardian take all the fire.
I'm not happy about this, but at least the government has something at stake now. I love it that you can't have a civil debate, but instead just insult people when you can't win an argument.
Isn't most of this stuff pretty outdated anyway? How long is your average informant even active in the field? I would think that after first news of the leak broke, most governments would have withdrawn any agents threatened by it. Anyway, I'm glad it's all out in the open. Letting the "authorities" sift through and censor the cables defeated the purpose.

Personally I don't give a damn either way as to whether it was Wikileak's fault or The Guardian's, I'm more concerned about what is in dem leaks.
;32079813']You just sent me a "Boo Hissss booo" message. I love it that you can't have a civil debate, but instead just insult people when you can't win an argument.
So? We're not arguing in your silly little chat thing, we're arguing here - I mean, you want to have a civil debate, go ahead, present your argument, you haven't done so. You're a bit over sensitive, darling.
This is either really hilarious or really sad, harassing users on their profiles because you can't present an argument yourself [editline]2nd September 2011[/editline] I finally remembered where I knew your name from, my profile! [editline]2nd September 2011[/editline] But you know, no hard feelings, I know what it's like not being able to argue to the point of having to go on people's profiles and call them faggots

Hahah oh wow that's so fucking sad.

EDIT: This is what? The second? The third? Time I have had to permaban him after unbanning one of his accounts? Maybe this time I will learn. Jeeze.
Jesus, if you search his user page posts he has been trolling user pages for months.
isn't that ban worthy?
