Undocumented workers add around 30 billion dollars to our economy. With the worst education system in the country, I'd think that ignoring that source of revenue is the last thing Arizona should be doing.

So you also think exploiting foreigners for your own gain is alright?

This 30 billion is for the nation as a whole. What about the billions that Arizona is spending from their own state funds for things like welfare and health care for people that aren't even legal citizens?
[editline]10:16PM[/editline]
And now that the rest of the nation is going to "boycott" Arizona, how much financial assistance do you think they're going to be getting to pay for these things?

I think we should prioritize. Is having ignorant people running around with their legal unregistered concealed weapons better or worse than people who struggled their way across the border to come here? I live down near the border, and about 7 years ago I got lost while drilling a well. Had I not been able to spot one of the ties we had out on a tree after climbing a hill I would have been delirious in about a day, and dead in three. Expelling these desperate people isn't the smartest idea right now, especially with population growth as it is.

Yea, when most of them send most of the money they earn back to their families in Mexico. Really stimulates the economy. Does that figure also take into account the US citizens who actually deserve those jobs because they didn't come here illegally? And the same people who are losing their houses, cars, etc because they can't find a job?
Most of these workers take jobs that wouldn't be occupied anyway because they're the only jobs available to them. People only want these minimum wage shit jobs because of the economy right now, and that fluctuates quite a bit. Legal citizens can go back to working at Safeway, and let the Mexicans do landscaping in 110 degrees for under minimum wage (because these people have no rights).
I don't get people agreeing with this law.
Either they racial profile and the law works but it's a PR disaster
OR
They don't racial profile and it's a useless law which takes up money and is STILL a PR disaster.

I mean, it'd be better to make it possible for them to immigrate legally but if they make more money than they would in Mexico, sure I guess?

So because you were born here you deserve a job more than someone else who wasn't.

You're treating foreigners as non-human. Anyone who thinks that we should allow them to stay so they can keep getting paid and treated like animals because it helps the economy is just as fucked up in the head as the people who want to racial profile.
