how does that change how the stories are told
hell, they have the same progression. you're a special little snowflake who has to gather up a bunch of people to fight a race of evil big bads before they do big bad things. how are they so different?

True, but if the galaxy is in the shitter then I'm not sure I consider it a victory. I'll be honest, I didn't beat the Reapers because of the galaxy, I beat the reapers because of my squad. I wanted them to be happy and........now I don't know what happens to them.

yes you don't know what happens, but the point, ultimately was, reapers have literally wiped out every single previous race completely, and you stopped them from doing that. don't you think they would be happy knowing that as well?

Pretty much the worst victory ever, in my opinion. The only thing good about the ending is that the Reapers are out of the equation, yet the rest of the galaxy is entirely fucked. Qualifies more of a downer ending than a bittersweet.

I dunno, I always felt that the Mass Effect universe felt much more realized and alive. That, and Dragon Age didn't let you blow up an annoying loudmouth party member with a nuke.
