I believe life sentences are appropriate for murderers because it allows them to effectively stop and think about what they've done for a really really god damn long fucking time.

A life for a life never makes right. Mealy live them with a cast, to remind them of the past.
In other words, harm them, but not to a killing point.
And save it for murderers.

So no matter what the case is, if you take another life no matter what, you are a monster that needs to die to be shown that killing is wrong.
let me spell this out: you want to kill a killer to tell that killer that his killing was wrong and other potential killers that killing is wrong and if you kill, you'll be killed to teach you that killing is wrong.
