By Interceptor do you mean this one? [t]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0d/2013_Ford_Police_Interceptor_sedan_--_07-11-2012.JPG[/t] On that note, I'm gonna miss the Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, it was the American (and Canadian) Police Car.. Does anyone know why it was discontinued anyway?
Pretty much a decision by Ford because the vehicle was so old. The Interceptors are everything the CV's were and more. I mean yea the V8 is gone and the iconic square headlights are too, but now we have a much nicer, faster, and updated car.
Crown Vics were valued because they were so tough and easy to work on. The new Interceptors have yet to prove themselves and I'm skeptical personally since they look like every other sedan on the road now. Here in West Texas our police departments are clinging to what Crown Vics they can and fulfilling the pursuit roles with suped up Camaros and Corvettes. e: I don't want to bump this thread but what I meant by them looking the same is that that modern cars tend to be less durable and harder to maintain, not that aesthetics were a problem.
Well holy shit. This is my home town. Good to see with made the news besides flooding. Which seems to be our only talent
The interceptor with the ecoboost still takes the cake (imo) the challenger just is just too big
I wouldn't be surprised if the turbo'd V6 interceptor isn't liked purely because of the fact it isn't sporting a huge V8
Crown Vics were valued because they were so tough and easy to work on. This is almost a "Texas is ass backwards" joke being served on a silver platter.
Mostly speculation on my part, and I can't really see from the pictures there, but I imagine the lights weren't properly covered, meaning it fell foul of the laws regarding emergency lights on cars, which are meant to be disconnected and covered when on a public highway if not an emergency vehicle. You can have flashing lights on your car and all that on private land if you want, it's your land after all, but not on a public highway. Logos on the car might also have to be covered, I'm not actually sure about them.
Though not sure I'd have to say it's the lights, there's an NYPD squad car that i see quite often , when it's on the road the lights are not even on the roof but every single decal is on show. The guy who owns it apparently owns a scimitar tank and has driven it on the roads before.
I was driving towards London a while back and I saw an American style squad car. [t]http://i.imgur.com/J4g3fuI.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/I2HIXWs.jpg[/t] So to confirm, as it wasn't clear in the article, he was arrested for impersonating an officer, not for driving the car?
Looks like a LAPD Squad Car
It's a pretty common occurrence for cars to be shipped across large bodies of water by boats or even planes.
Its not that simple at all, theres a boatload of paper work and inspections that are done to cars shipped across oceans. Getting a police car the "A-OK" to get on can be really difficult because I had a rough time getting a regular car across.
