iPhone 6 and iOS 7 Reportedly Appearing in App Developer Logs
I wasnt gonna reply because its obvious your stubborn opinion isnt going to be changed but this is so wrong, the intuitiveness of Apples software is the reason why its so popular.
The only reason I'm still on Android is not because I like Android, but because iOS is aesthetically repulsive and Windows Phone has no apps. Its the 'slightly less terrible' option.
honestly, if its worth having, its compatible with the iphone
Activism for open source software doesn't count?
i'm going to wager that you haven't done a second of activism in your life.
I own a nexus 7, and it's slow. Slow to rotate, slow to open apps, lags in the browser. I can fix all those issues, I know how to. Thing is, I don't want to. I realized that I'd rather spend more cash on something that's actually polished.
It has bullshit issues a Windows Phone with half as much RAM didn't have - randomly pushing the browser from memory, which, if you follow the Android thread made me mad.
I tried to fix that shit, I went to that XDA site, and they basically told me to fuck off and do it their way because that's better and Google knows what they're doing.
When I wanted to make my HTC One X app switcher to actually behave as a god damn app switcher button, because every single ROM tried to make it work as menu button, I was also told that the way it's done there is better. I was pissed.
All my Android devices had stuttering issues, which I am just sick of fixing.
After my experience, I'm honestly just not going to buy a Nexus device or an Android tablet.
I'd rather just pay more for a Note 2, because even if it doesn't have the latest Android, it would actually have optimized software with some nice exclusive features, a better screen, more storage, and a much better camera.
this entire thread reeks

So far the only thing I'm a little disappointed in with my nexus is how slow it takes to rotate and performance issues when it has too much on its plate
apart from that everythings fine with me
I'm tired of this "apple is overpriced" garbage. This is only true for their Mac line of products and that's because they set the bar for quality in pretty much every important regard.

iPhone 5, 16GB on Verizon, $200.

HTC's flagship Droid DNA (how many droid phones are there???) 16GB, Verizon, $200.
Both phones are 4G phones and have sizeable, quality displays. They're both thin. They're also the same fucking price. Of course, the iPhone has $50 more "retail" price but MSRP on phones is a joke.
You know what's weird though?
The iPhone is actually fixable

Here's the teardown of the Droid DNA

Fixing the SGS3 is also a pain in the ass and the iPhone usually at least comes out usable in drop tests.
Like, I don't know why people are being needlessly sour. If people don't customize Android, which is arguably its biggest thing over iOS, how is it any better than iOS especially if you're stuck with it for 2 years? And why are people (Daniel M) pretending that people have some sort of carnal need for phone customization?
My iPhone has been 2 shades of green. Literally. Lime green and it's now forest green. That's customization if I ever heard of it.
The only reasons I got an S3 over an iPhone was the price difference (I buy unlocked phones) the camera, and the customize-ability, and the screen size
If I'm going to have a phone for 2 years I want to be able to change every aspect of it because I'm the kind of person who gets bored very easily, and I know that's not something to be proud of but it's true

who gives a shit what phone you have, I'll only care if you start wiping it in my face
Daniel M posts as if iPhone's murdered his whole family. Some people like customization with a slower device. Others, like a faster device with less customization.

As previously stated, Android at ICS and above does not really need to be customized, I really like the stock look and feel of it. Of course, there's things like the calendar widget which is helpful to have a swipe away from your home screen to check upcoming dates and things, but even just using it exactly like an iPhone with all the apps tiled across the screen I'd still prefer it (though I don't know why I'd do that). I use both my Galaxy Nexus and an iPhone 4S pretty frequently and I prefer the Galaxy Nexus.
Please note I am not Daniel M, I'm not trying to tell you that the iPhone is the worst phone regardless of any personal preference towards the differences in the phones, just that it's kind of a worthless argument now to say Android is only worth getting if you want to customize your phone

I know, but that's what people like Daniel M really believe, and it just boggles me.
I think the only reason I'd dislike the iPhone is the annoying marketing v:v:v
I think the only reason I'd dislike the iPhone is the annoying marketing v:v:v
I can relate to this I guess, I dislike apple as a company way more than I dislike their actual products. When the iPad first came out, I went to check on their website to see the specs and such and I shit you not the exact quote "It's hard to believe we fit so many great ideas into one device"was in large bold text in front of an image of the iPad :v:

Yeah, the way they treat their customers (and other companies I guess) really puts me off. Tech journalists eat that shit up too and it's just a media clusterfuck
I don't think putting a giant ass case on your phone is customization
Good thing it's definitely not a case:

It's easily fixable, here just follow this 300 page guide in Polish. See, Android's always better because even if it breaks you can easily fix it!
Totally better than iOS (more like shitOS)

Never happened to me with my S3
And I have had 5 hour phone calls
Never happened to me with my S3

good for you?
Or he could get the more than capable Nexus 4 for $300
You can't buy phones that aren't in stock
my htc one x would only let me use the camera after i reboot it
also it had random freezing and rebooting issues
my galaxy note had crazy echo during calls and sometimes just wouldn't let me pick up calls at all
Never happened to me with my S3

I've never had anything crash on my S3 before, although I've been getting a weird bug where app icons in folders don't show up until I restart
You can't buy phones that aren't in stock
i know this feeling all too well.
I really hope i can buy and receive it before the start of my collage term
Both phones are 4G phones and have sizeable, quality displays.
Don't mean to butt in here, but the display on the DNA is the selling point of the phone! I have mine sitting next to me, and it's the most gorgeous display I've ever seen. Removing the display on the iPhone is sort of a moot point; replacement screens cost about as much as the phone. Both phones should just be sent in for repairs.
Also, Daniel, you need to learn to take a break. Some people like different things than you. The world isn't going to end.

Only true for the iPhone 5, the displays for the 4 and 4S are $50ish for a full kit, or $30 for just the front.
And it's only worth sending in if you have some sort of replacement plan. And either way I was not responsible for my phone breaking, both times (the first time I even bought it broken)
