My god, a construction worker expressing desire for a woman? Alert the presses.
I'm glad they got rid of this, it made all men look like assholes! that's the issue here right

Thank god Lego fixed this. Is it safe for my kids to leave the house again?
If we don’t call out these things when we see them, then even the little pieces of culture, like a pack of stickers, can serve to normalize sexist behavior and harassment,” he wrote.
the slippery slope argument again? because everyone points out how the Nazis started innocent and turned into killers, Germany had centuries of ingrained antisematism, I doubt a pack of stickers that nobody even uses will reinforce sexual stereotypes [editline]7th May 2013[/editline] still I bet somebody at Lego is shittin bricks over this
rofl "political correctness" http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Political_correctness http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/personal-view/3642534/Political-correctness-doesnt-explain-anything.html http://msopinionative.angelfire.com/PC.html
Forget political correctness, the formatting on that page is universally offensive.
but by showing catcalls on a toy, kids will think its ok to do IRL and do it eagerly awaiting the box strom courtesy of the Great Facepunch Circlejerk
i don't see what's necessarily wrong about this? i think any sort of sexualization of lego's via "hey babe" is unnecessary and it's absolutely playing to the trope of the woman being whistled at by construction workers. as dumb as it sounds stuff like this is what makes kids think that it's okay to street harass women and it depicts manhood - CONSTRUCTION - as something that is inherently tied to hitting on people [editline]7th May 2013[/editline] really, look at the image of the sticker - everything else is just normal work related rhetoric. that lego put the "hey babe" in there is just silly, and they recognized that via their apology.
Wow hold it right there. Toys having sexual stereotypes? Start hiding Barbie, because you're next!
Barbie breaking stereotypes: Barbie as concrete worker, and Kenn as as hairdresser or Barbie as car mechanic and Kenn as male nurse.
Take a gander at this sinister ballad of female oppression well sorry, it was a bit of nostalgia for me
Sometimes I wish I was CEO of some big company so in situations like this, I could respond with a simple, 'deal with it' and continue on, ignoring the 'problem'.

But seriously though,
i hate that the world is going to political correctness hell.
The majority of stuff that some would label 'political correctness' does help against attitudes that hurt actual groups of people directly or indirectly What's annoying is the nit-picky/pedantic/nonsensical complaining over insignificant stuff by those who aren't even part of the groups they claim something to be offensive to or whatever, and similar people taking illogical measures over stuff because of some over the top fear that it might possibly cause some offense to someone somehow About this lego thing, the caption is pretty unnecessary in all honesty but i'm not sure whether the dad's overreacting or not
Good on Lego to apologize and fix it without acting immature or stupid about it. A lot of little stuff like this leads to the current problem we have now in society with sexism. Also I really hope almost all of you never get in any high position of power. Jesus.
