Iirc for it to be road legal the tank itself has to be able to fit in the lane which means you are limited to light scout tanks. Other than that just fit it road tracks, bore holes in the gun and fit in turn signals. You can get all kinds of military shit once they are disposed of. I forgot the website but the company that handled the auction for HMS Ark Royal was also selling 2 decommissioned destroyers (albeit with the engines removed)
yeah military equipment depreciates in value worse than a mattress, the tank in the OP probably cost a million to produce
Man I would totally own a BTR or OT-64

I've seen this thing moving around bristol. :V I recognize the area in the photo anywhere, Bradley Stoke. If that isn't edge of bristol, i dunno what is.
there's no real chance you will just make your own ammo for it.
Not in the actual difficulty of manufacture, but the volume of powder needed to fill even a single shell would probably put you on a watchlist if you bought it.
If i could, i would want this. http://www.russianmilitary.co.uk/details.php?id=179 Dat scud.

Generally the cost of a tank depends on two things: the condition of the tank, and its rarity. For instance: want a museum showpiece Panzer 4 which can run? Expect to pay 2.5 million. Want a armoured vehicle of some sort, in various conditions? Expect to pay as little as $5000. The thing is, those ones tend to take a lot of work. Any of the CVR(T)'s are generally very easy to own; they are quite easy to move about which can quickly become the main cost for heavier tanks.
Reminds me of my teacher who drove a willies jeep to school almost every day he didn't drive a motorcycle to school.
Would have been even better if it was this http://www.milweb.net/webvert/78585 [editline]17th October 2015[/editline] There is some really really cool shit on there. Imagine having one of these http://www.milweb.net/webvert/78604
If i could, i would want this. http://www.russianmilitary.co.uk/details.php?id=179 Dat scud.
super-funny idea step 1) get that step 2) drive it through washington DC step 3) spend the next 6 months on a watchlist because thats a really really bad idea [editline]17th October 2015[/editline] alternatively make it into a doof-wagon
Why can an Englishman buy a Canadian tank for $18000 online but I can't find any for sale in bloody Canada?
I thought the Scorpion was a British tank?
That is faaaar cheaper than I ever expected. I now have a new goal in my life.
http://www.mortarinvestments.eu/products/armoured-vehicles-4/brdm-2-76#currency=USD 6K USD They also have an SU-100 and T-34 for sale
Shermans are pretty light, right? Wonder how much those run in the US.
I'm interested are these completely road legal, even if they fit the guidelines for size etc. Because how tracks work they fuck up pipes and shit under the roads from the vibrations and shit. It's why Abrams and shit weren't really used in Iraq too much.
I thought the Scorpion was a British tank?
It's British but was probably sold for use in Canada.

[editline]18th October 2015[/editline] Too bad tracked vehicles are banned from the roads here. If I dug around I'm pretty sure I have the money for one. But I don't know where the hell do I get the import permit.
