Proposed Alternative Energy Design is Wind Power - Without the Blades

Honestly, these look alien enough for their weird aesthetics to be pardoned. Approved.
I know, I feel so much better about that. Lets all switch to coal.
They look like giant grass!

...What?
I mean, it's not necessarily wrong or anything but it just sounds like an awful abuse of the English language

Oh, it's satire.
Oh lol nevermind then.

Most of the USA never left coal :v:

Everything is solar power according to such logic.

the whole thing is bizarre, it looks like a laboured defence of coal power
I personally think that those look uglier than wind turbines. Just my opinion.
It's not there to look pretty, you know.
Make them look like trees.
Those are good news because we know how dangerous the blades can be.

I think I'd rather kill 70,000 birds than 13,000 people.

Oh, it's satire.
The coolest part of this article for me is their idea of putting these underwater. Ocean currents generate a lot more motion than wind, and you most likely can't see them on the ocean floor.
Would be cool if they colored them green and put them ontop of skyscrapers.
So many cool futuristic things being made, but never being put to use.

Well these are just concepts so far. implementation would take time, money, locations, contracts, permits, permissions, the project manager sleeping with the property owner, testing, failed concepts, more science, and then finally a finished project.
We'll probably have to wait a few years before we see these things dotting the countryside.
Ahhh i can't stand it when some people get arsey about alternative energy methods because it will ruin the landscape. They seem to forget that we are running short on time to set up a decent substitute for fossil fuels. Anyway the needs of the many out weigh the needs of the few.
Reminds me of a porcupine.
Or tarantula legs :v:

did he say it was?
AESTHETICS > BENEFIT TO THE WORLD
BOMB-PROOF LOGIC
Honestly I think wind turbines looking fucking awesome
AESTHETICS > BENEFIT TO THE WORLD
BOMB-PROOF LOGIC
read the article....
Noise from wind turbine blades, inadvertent bat and bird kills and even the way wind turbines look have made installing them anything but a breeze
He's just saying they don't solve that "problem"
That looks absolutely horrid.

It looks like Postal's ass.
So it's made entirely out of moving parts, explain how this is more efficient since it seems they'll wear out WAY faster than wind turbines
