Yet they don't have the money or connections so they go to prison for lesser crimes.[/QUOTE] Keep in mind that being sent to a mental health facility carries the risk of it being a life sentence, as usually it's an indefinite stay. You'd only get to leave if your psych doctor says you're well enough to leave. In this case, he finally recovered enough to not be required to stay there.
