The Church of Postal's Ass meets on Saturday.
No gingers allowed though, they're an affront to His Holy Hairyness
Lol, right wing militias would fail against the government, left wing militias would fail even harder. These are the same people who cowered at the sight of a gun, they just advocate violent resistance because they've read about it in their books about Marxism.
There are various forms of leftist extremists. Some of them are like that but you also get the hardcore old school militias who are fanatical as hell and are 100% willing to kill and die for their cause, these guys are scary as fuck and not the special snowflake types in the slightest. Both are very unlikely to do anything though, so you're right in the sense militias of any kind would get crushed. Especially since the ones I mentioned probably consist of very tiny numbers.
couldnt you loophole this by founding a lgbt pro religion and thus cancelling out the executive order
couldnt you loophole this by founding a lgbt pro religion and thus cancelling out the executive order
It wouldnt cancel it out but it would allow legal discrimination against the kinds of people who passed this bill
Lol, and my Mom insisted that I wouldn't be a target of Cheeto Supreme's legislation. So much for that, thanks Mom!

Ask people who were in the middle of that shit about their conceptions of the limp-wristed American liberal.
It's not a bill, it's an EO, and therefore not really "law". The President, like the judicial branch, cannot create law. Only congress can do that.
Okay Regardless, why are all the "Small Government" conservatives not shouting about this like they did with... literally anything Obama did?
Okay Regardless, why are all the "Small Government" conservatives not shouting about this like they did with... literally anything Obama did?
It's only bad when DUMBOCRATS do it, obviously.
Time to create the Jedi Faith then, its recognised as a religion here due to how many people jokingly put it on their census or allegedly, dunno if thats true
Not exactly sure how to properly update it but he just signed the order
Not exactly sure how to properly update it but he just signed the order
Now we wait for a judge to strike it down. Or things just got a fuck ton worse for the LGBT community.
Okay Regardless, why are all the "Small Government" conservatives not shouting about this like they did with... literally anything Obama did?
I don't know. Probably because it aligns with their views. I didn't like Obama "ruling by the pen", and I don't like Trump doing it either, although it looks like he's going to outpace Obama in no time, which will give ammo for people to say "But Trump is doing it MORE!", thus starting a completely new argument.
Not exactly sure how to properly update it but he just signed the order
Well, fuck.
Well, fuck.
Did you expect him not to or something...? :v:
Hasn't Trump already outpaced Obama?
I don't think so. But I could be wrong.
Hasn't Trump already outpaced Obama?
Comparing first 100 days to first 100 days of both, yes Trump has signed many more than Obama. Almost twice as much.
http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/03/politics/trump-religious-liberty-executive-order/ So according to this, the order seems far more focused on IRS stuff and political endorsements.
The order, which declares that it is the policy of the Trump administration "to protect and vigorously promote religious liberty," stops short of offering broad exceptions for groups to deny services based on religious grounds.
We'll have to wait for the full text of the order to come out, but the LGBT community may have dodged a bullet? Unless I'm seriously misinterpretting this.
religious influence over politics should always be kept to a minimum imo
Yeah, there's even religious people who are saying that religion and politics should be seperate.
Comparing first 100 days to first 100 days of both, yes Trump has signed many more than Obama. Almost twice as much.
Also the context when compared to the end of Obama's term is different - Obama used EOs to get things done with a gridlocked congress while Trump has both houses if he wants to try and pass legislation but is instead still ruling by executive order.
