I don't like the name SteamOS, they could of come up with something a bit more creative.
Windows killer!
No, but if their promises with media pan out, it could be the new go to OS for HTPCs...
Totally gonna dual boot this with Windows.
honey nut steamos
Yes <3
I wonder if we can put the OS On a raspberry pi and use that to stream games to the living room
That's pretty fucking sweet. I can see why this has been taking up a bunch of resources at Valve lately, it seems pretty huge.
steamos sounds like a cereal brand
easy game streaming is a decent idea
So beatiful

has to be steam box next
i'm going to buy the shit out of it
The logo for the next announcement is the circle in a box. I'm guessing Valve's hardware itself is the next reveal.
I wonder how well the streaming performance is when you run it on a VM. Then I just might get an adapter to connect my Macbook to my TV.
also @ music services, Spotify was confirmed a while ago.

Next is going to be a controller with interchangeable parts I reckon.
So now we know that the 'O' in the first announcement corrolates to "SteamOS", we can assume the 'O' in a box is the Steam box, and the third one is some kind of announcement about connectivity/family sharing/something along those lines.

LEVEL I
steam OS
What would OS + OS be? Assuming that is the third one.

There likely won't be a Steam Box, Valve quit the hardware game months ago, it says on the page that SteamOS will be freely licensable by manufacturers, so there will be an unofficial one for sure.
also @ music services, Spotify was confirmed a while ago.
Spotify and Netflix built into Steam would be ace.

Well I'm really just wondering if the steam os can be put on really cheap hardware. That way for those of us that have spent a ton on gaming rigs we don't need to spend much on the device that will actually hook up to our TV (which is why I said raspberry pi).
That chrome cast like streaming feature is defiantly the best way of getting steam in the living room. If there is a "steam box" it is just going to be a fancy-ish prebuilt. I don't see a steam box being a thing, just a controller.

First circle: Steam OS
Second Circle: Steam Box(SteamOS in cornered brackets[box])
Third circle: Something about other people's OS' and shit, W/E
Spotify and Netflix built into Steam would be ace.
I'm sure they both will be.

goddamn
Hey, if the "o" is SteamOS, the "[o ]" thing has to be what the SteamOS is inside, probably the Steambox, and "o+o" is some kind of connectivity or multiplayer thing.

They only fired the augmented reality people.

Steam doesn't run on ARM yet.
They only fired the augmented reality people.
They announced a long time ago that they didn't want to take part in developing hardware.
Can't wait for Steambox and Left 4 Dead 3.
