If anything, it demoralizes us and pits us against each other.
Suppressing those who oppose the government will do good. If most people stayed quiet, had a single dictator in charge (Who wasn't insane) and did what they were told then sooner or later a single nation would eventually take the entire world and run it efficiently.
Why the fuck would they do that, that's just unesscecary and extremely tedious.
Depends on your definition of insane. I personally think that as the master species we should colonize the universe and conquer inferior alien species. (If they even exist)
if we get visited by aliens i'm pretty sure that would make them the master species
if we get visited by aliens i'm pretty sure that would make them the master species
Unless it's like District 9 and they're all hopelessly confused
This is really silly
Depends on your definition of insane. I personally think that as the master species we should colonize the universe and conquer inferior alien species. (If they even exist)
there won't be any "conquering the universe" because there is no such thing as faster than light travel
Why. Either explain your reasoning or change your viewpoint now as you have not explained your position and have no reason to take it. Not doing one of those two is intellectually lazy.
Just got back, anyways, I don't think it should be taught because if they really were gay, then they wouldn't need to be taught about it.
If John is pumping Mike at the speed of 4 pumps per second, in how many seconds will it be Mike's turn to pump John?
Never because Mike is the prison bitch.
I hate it when pariahs (especially in their school days) realize they can co-opt "gay" as a means of forcing you to accept them, and when you reject associating with them due to the fact they're intrusive and obnoxious, it's "homophobia." They give real gays a bad name. On this issue, they don't need this crap in fucking math class. It would do much better for them to earn the equal emphasis they deserve in history textbooks, which I fully support.
Just got back, anyways, I don't think it should be taught because if they really were gay, then they wouldn't need to be taught about it.
It isn't about helping people discover their sexuality, it's about making LGBT people acceptable to mainstream society.
You wouldn't have a major problem with that unless if you aren't friendly to them.
It's the fact that they use being gay as an excuse for being annoying that's the problem. It's a protection thing. EDIT: Meanwhile you have real gay people suffering because they devalue their struggle.
It just seems to be how america handles minorities, it was probably the same with blacks after the whole slavery business. Either way, it'll help so there's no point complaining.
It's a damn waste of decent educational time in the pursuit of over-blown political correctness. I resent it.
It's a damn waste of decent educational time in the pursuit of over-blown political correctness. I resent it.
No one in the fucking class will care. It's a negligible sum of money, it may help and it won't be detriment. Stop fucking whining you stupid fuck, is it really such a fucking affront to your world view you have to constantly fucking harp on about this? It's not a waste of time, cause the teachers would still have to read out the question, or the students would have to read it, no time wasted. We wastey no timey, timey no wastey.

We wastey no timey, timey no wastey.
It's a waste of time to spend effort concentrating on gay achievements specifically when we can be focusing on IMPORTANT achievements, without some ridiculous little focus on such a damned irrelevant feature. I don't want my education to be hijacked by the PC agenda.
Agenda? Suddenly raising awareness and trying to stop folk from getting shit over a lifestyle is an agenda? Personally I couldn't give a fuck about any of this I just really don't see why everyone is butthurt over this.
Agenda? Suddenly raising awareness and trying to stop folk from getting shit over a lifestyle is an agenda? Personally I couldn't give a fuck about any of this I just really don't see why everyone is butthurt over this.
No, Bravehat. Directly distorting my education to have an undue focus on homosexuals is. By your logic, should we also do this for African-Americans? For Jews? For Mormons? For pedophiles? This style of teaching also places an undue emphasis on sexuality. Say, a scientist discovers the cure for cancer. Why does it matter that he's gay? Why does it matter that he's not? It's completely irrelevant, and so is this.
Whatever dude, I couldn't give a monkeys to be honest, this is attempting to break bigotry, in a small way aye but it's still an attempt, I don't see why you're against it. Either way feel free to fuck yourself with a cactus.
please tell me what kind of persecution straight people have had to endure merely because they were straight
[thread]1052297[/thread]
[thread]1052297[/thread]
putting gay characters in word problems isn't persecution try again
[thread]1052297[/thread]
So the mention of gay people in text is persecution of straight folk? So by that logic mentioning black people in text means whites are being persecuted? Wait, so, To Kill A Mockingbird, a book that specifically points to racism and the like being stupid and terrible, was actually racist? Fucking what...
It's a damn waste of decent educational time in the pursuit of over-blown political correctness. I resent it.
In this case, "political correctness" is a good thing, it's to make homosexuality more mainstream. You would understand this if you weren't oblivious to the gay suicides, disowning of gays, and gay bullying.
No, Bravehat. Directly distorting my education to have an undue focus on homosexuals is. By your logic, should we also do this for African-Americans? For Jews? For Mormons? Leave.
putting gay characters in word problems isn't persecution try again

So the mention of gay people in text is persecution of straight folk?
First off, my post was an obvious and poorly-timed joke, as I hadn't looked at the last page and seen the shitstorm that accumulated throughout this thread. I find it really sad that people think that it's only okay to celebrate racial/ethnic/whatever groups that were oppressed in the past. Get back to me when there's a People History Month. More on topic: I originally thought that the teaching tactics in OP seemed useless and overly blatant, but now I'm thinking that subtle familiarization might not be such a bad thing. Italics on subtle.
I'm fine with my sexuality and rather not know too much about how Homosexual people do it.
I would understand if they pushed a curriculum for learning gay culture and how far gay rights have come, but it's only really applicable for social studies, nothing further.
The fact that you just compared gay people to pedophiles means you aren't worth our fucking time responding to. Leave.
There used to be a pedophile acceptance movement going round in the 60s omg stop being so intolerant of other people and their cultures.
I would understand if they pushed a curriculum for learning gay culture and how far gay rights have come, but it's only really applicable for social studies, nothing further.
but all they are doing is including same sex partnerships in questions that already had heterosexual partnerships.
