Honestly the only time I've ever been harassed by gay bashers was by teenagers, and I'm not even gay. Kind of the total opposite for racism though, I've only encountered racial slurs being thrown around by white women in their 30's...
I learn about homosexuality in algebra every day.
"Pop quizzes are neither heterosexual or homosexual."

The teachers response to any and all "This is gay" comments.
Okay, now people can complain that they're shoving it in their faces.

i really doubt the article is correctly portraying the situation.
It's probably more along the lines of "mention the contributions of gay mathematicians like Alan Turing in Math class", not "teach about gays nonstop, apropos of nothing."
May I suggest also incorporating the vending machines?

There's already a video they could show in Gym class about homosexuality:

Pretty much anyone opposed to including homosexual characters in word problems is a bigot
this is pretty cut and dry
Bringing it up in contexts where it doesn't make any sense doesn't do anything to stop them from looking abnormal.
i'm sure that where it is used it WILL have context.
This has probably been stated, but aren't they just having this for the same reasons they have black history month and Martin Luther King Jr. day?
Okay, now people can complain that they're shoving it in their faces.
ugh why do people always say this crap. who cares if they're shoving it in your face? gays are human beings they have the right to express themselves.
i'm sure that where it is used it WILL have context.
If Bill has 8 apples and silly has four, and Sally takes half of Bill's apples, how many do they both have? Also, Bill is gay.

yeah see, somehow i doubt they will do it like that.
Remind me, why is society embracing the homosexual culture, again? Whatever happened to apathy?
I find people going to the toilet gross.
LET'S BAN IT!
I guess kids will have a excuse to call maths "gay" now
_______ History Month is the dumbest idea ever. You don't see straight history month, so there shouldn't be any other variation of the concept floating around.
Every month is straight history month.
what about bisexuals and transgendered and lesbians HUH fucking intolerant pricks thats what they all are goddamn fuck
what about bisexuals and transgendered and lesbians HUH fucking intolerant pricks thats what they all are goddamn fuck
"The initiative will be officially launched next month at the start of "LGBT History Month" – an initiative to encourage teaching about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transsexual issues." read the article next time... maybe u wont look like a moranne
Only thing I can think of this would be suitable for would be science.
Why not teach the general history of the world, organized by continent, and then chronologically? Oh, wait, people wouldn't grow up thinking that the West is the only civilized place in the world if that happened.
Only thing I can think of this would be suitable for would be science.
It's probably stuff like "At Ben and John's wedding there are 40 people attending and 42 chairs, how many possible combinations of seating arrangements are there?" instead of Ben and Susie's wedding
I forget this shit how many combinations are there anyway?
I know it's probably billions
It's something like:
42^40 - sum [42^i, {0, 39}]
Nah that's not it, you'd need to have a sum in a sum.
I still...I still don't know what to say.
I mean...I never got a black history month question in any of my math classes...in fact the only class that had any _____ history month mention was history class.
We need a what rating...because that's all I can say to this article.
wow way to go back and do everything you promised not to do and actually add fuel to the anti-gayrights fire

Black people are already incorporated into stuff though, and you learn about their civil rights struggles in social studies.
LGBT struggles get a miniscule mention, if that.

yeah i too am a bit confused as to how they can integrate uh "gay lessons" into maths or geography. history & science i can understand but maths & geography????

That's all fine in History and Science...but Math and Geography? Really?
That's all fine in History and Science...but Math and Geography? Really?
I already provided an example of how it could be incorporated into math. The geography one was already justified in the article with the San Francisco thing.
