Nah, I'll just bitch about it and go back to hugging my tree :v: After its chopped down to made into a book, and after its caused a bunch of wars.
K well have fun with that then.
K well have fun with that then.
Its not really fun but at least lessons are learned. [editline]18th April 2011[/editline]
but the ideas...!
You know all that stuff you stand up for? You know how those started?
Some sort of punishment or fine for stealing it would have been fine, what a bunch of babies, getting all upset over the burning of some book.
What a bunch of babies, getting all upset over the burning of some flowers. It can work in the opposite direction too. Hell, people get angry for saying HL2 that great any more. People get angry about these things because it symbolizes a part of them and their culture. Its a direct insult to their beliefs.

Again, this whole debacle is illustrating what a big bunch of babies Muslims and whoever else involved are acting like in the UK. Course when these stupid cunts want to heat things up on a remembrance day, they expect immunity for their actions. Please.
well yes freedom of speech is incredibly important and should always be preserved but he did steal a qur'an (a book most people have not even read) from a bloody library (which are already facing huge cuts) and not even because he was hungry or because he had no choice (stealing isn't as bad in that circumstance) but he did it just to be a giant cunt not saying the ruling is just, but it does make you think
Except the ruling here has nothing to do with stealing the book, That was a separate charge. This 70 days here is just for burning it
Honestly, getting jail-time for burning the Qur'an is fucking stupid in my opinion. I'd feel the same way if he burned a bible too. It's a book with words in it, nothing more.
Why am I not surprised you of all people would be fine with burning books. :colbert:
holy shit get over it you're like a fucking starving puppy
holy shit get over it you're like a fucking starving puppy
Why do you get over me flipping out? :v: You rate me dumb every time I post, I did that after two pages of debating you. For fuck's sake I'm not saying a book is more important than an individual's rights but it just shows how much ignorance you have when burning a book.
you have no fucking clue what ignorance even is
you have no fucking clue what ignorance even is
Neither do you apparently.
You guys are both stupid
You guys are both stupid [img_thumb]http://i.imgur.com/oqE08.gif[/img_thumb]
I'll admit it. I'm not the brightest bulb.
Why am I not surprised you of all people would be fine with burning books. :colbert:
people have a right to protest, not everyone who burns a book is ignorant like you like to think.
people have a right to protest, not everyone who burns a book is ignorant like you like to think.
Then we should ask him why he did it. I wonder what response we'll get. Can give evidence that it is done by people for a reason beyond something arrogant like religious differences?
The Qur'an isn't the Muslim's equivalent to the Bible, necessarily. The Qur'an is extremely sacred, and is more of Islam's equivalent to Christianity's Jesus. So to Muslims, it's more than a book.
people have a right to protest, not everyone who burns a book is ignorant like you like to think.
that sounds like something hitler would say
Burning any book is extreme.
not to mention it gets you nothing but ash
Secretly people approve because the book was religious.

So to Muslims, it's more than a book.
Surely Muhammed is Islam's equivalent to Jesus? The reason it's 'more' sacred is because it's the actual word of god and was given to Muhammed, whereas the Bible is the words and acts of god remembered by someone there at the time. I'm not excusing the Qur'an burners actions or saying his sentence should be different, but seriously burning poppies and shouting 'british soldiers burn in hell' is downright disgusting, £50 fine is a joke, I'm sure more people in the UK are offended by that than the qur'an being burnt.
Ihazard. Once this american priest burned a quran and muslims KILLED circa 10 people in non violent protest that escaladed into a riot (Probably because of Hamas agitators).
He STOLE a book. Stealing is wrong. If he owned it, then it's fine. Plus book burning harms the environement
Eugenics I do believe I just owned you good sir. And I'm not a hippy since I believe war is a necessary evil.
You should leave out that "evil" part, because evilness is bad and not necessary but you are right; there cannot be virtue without violence
He STOLE a book. Stealing is wrong. If he owned it, then it's fine. Plus book burning harms the environement
He should pay a fine to replace the book and have his ability to borrow books from the library revoked.
I can't believe people are fine with throwing a person in jail for expressing his opinion in a non-violent way.
Trying to stir up racial hate and prior convictions
Surely Muhammed is Islam's equivalent to Jesus? Muhammed is a prophet like Jesus, but thats it. There is none of the holiness and worship associated with Jesus in Islam about Muhammed. While Muhammed's sayings are considered to be guidelines and explanations of some parts of the Quran, Quran is the sacred, unchanged and final word of God. While the New Testament is more like a collection of anecdotes that have been written down long after the events happened. It still is a holy book but it is more of a collection and it is mostly about Jesus and/or the events that transpired around him and God. While it is not quite possible to compare Jesus to the Quran, some similarities can be found. Jesus is far more holy and revered compared to the Bible and its place in Christian religion, and the same can be said about the Quran and Muhammed. The Bible explains and sheds light on Jesus' teachings and his life and Muhammed has explained and shed light on Quran and some of the information in it. So it is not too far off the mark. But yes I do agree burning poppies and shouting "burn in hell" is not a very positive attitude either and should have been dealt with more severely.
Trying to stir up racial hate and prior convictions
Unless the guy yelled "FUCK THE MUSLIMS, KILL THEM ALL" while doing it, then no. And prior convictions still should have no effect on what should not be a crime.
I heard that if done right, you can get high on poppies?
And prior convictions still should have no effect on what should not be a crime.
Not in Britain. Each time you get reprimanded, the sentence gets more severe. Assault someone once, you'll probably get away with a slap on the wrists. Assault someone six times, and you're looking at jail time.
