lmao coming from you
who are you
You just describing standing and shooting in many different ways. Or moving and shooting, but they might as well be the same. What I'm trying to say is that there is nothing great about HL2's gameplay. There's nothing that makes it special. It is completely generic combat with nothing else. And that makes it boring. [editline]07:22PM[/editline] Or rather, standing and shooting many other things, not many different ways.
Honestly, I can't think of any arguments about HL having nothing special, i mean it DOES have the AR2, but that's nothing very big. But even so it doesn't make the game boring, it still has it's storyline and gameplay. I guess it's just your opinion, but i disagree with you. To me Half-life is a great game, although it may not exactly have "special" gameplay, it's still it's own game.
All of his points are true but they mean absolutely nothing. I could reverse it and say those are all good things and they would still mean nothing.
Okay okay, here is what Half Life is You look at a combine (or marine, if it's HL1) you hold down click, you start shooting at them, they start shooting at you. You both take damage but since you have more health you win. Then you find health packs in oh so cleverly placed corners so you survive and repeat. That is half life. It's a fucking FPS. You point and things and click. Where's the game? Sure there were cool parts like the boat part or the car part or the crane part, but they were too infrequent. Especially in Half Life 1 where you do NOTHING but look at marines, hold down fire, and wait to see who dies first. Let's take a game like Call of Duty 4, pretty much every single mission you're doing something new. While sure, most of it is still pointing and clicking, each level is doing something different so it stays fresh. Not the case with Half Life, where you fight combine in the whole fucking game. Or maybe a game like Dead Space. The game had serious atmosphere, something people claim exists in Half Life but I don't feel it. Not like I feel it in Dead Space. Dead Space even had fucking game mechanics for god's sake. Dismemberment, inventory, all that good stuff. Half Life just has, shooting. That's really it.
Stop comparing HL2 to modern games. When you compare it to any shooter before 2004, you see why it got such good reviews.
lmao, Zips is really desperate for attention lately.
He always has been :/
Stop comparing HL2 to modern games. When you compare it to any shooter before 2004, you see why it got such good reviews.
Can I compare HL2 to games older than HL2? [editline]07:41PM[/editline] Because a lot of them are better.
Can I compare HL2 to games older than HL2? [editline]07:41PM[/editline] Because a lot of them are better.
Examples? Singleplayer preferably.
lmao, Zips is really desperate for attention lately.
You want to try explaining how you came to that rather wrong conclusion? Facts only please, I could do without the baseless assumptions that are common around here. I only posted in this thread after the blow up of idiotic proportions reached some multiple pages in length. Not my fault people here don't know satire when it's damn obvious.
The fact that people are still writing articles about Half-life 2 almost 6 years later speaks for itself.
Examples? Singleplayer preferably.
Metroid Prime. Not a shooter but it's better than HL2. Banjo Kazooie. The game's not an FPS either and it's still better. Radiant Silvergun. Also not an FPS and still better than HL2. It's amazing I know. Also Ikaruga, I'll put it in the same line. Mega Man 2. It's kinda a shooter but it sure is better than HL2. To name a few
Oh my bad I thought you wrote it But Gamesradar is trying to be cracked.com and failing here
Naw, I wouldn't write such nonsense. I know better than to try and rile up the geeky masses even as a "joke."
I'm not saying it's the best game ever. Im saying that in 2004 It was the best FPS.
You know, I might actually agree with that. Because in making that lost post I couldn't think of any FPS before 04 that was any good. There might be one but I either don't know it or don't remember.

evil_toaster is troll because he doesn't like half-life :downs:
Or more accurately, I can't think of any singleplayer FPS's that were better than HL2. Games like Quake are far better than Half Life.
the fuck get out of this thread you have no idea what you're talking about, you're just changing your opinion to stop getting yelled at and it doesn't fucking work. [editline]05:50PM[/editline] I pointed that out, and realized it the second I saw his post.
half life fanboy i see. get out of your moms basement faggot (User was banned for this post ("Flaming" - Benji))
HL2 was completely boring compared to HL. [editline]09:33PM[/editline] HL was a bit challenging for me. HL2 was just "HOLD THE SMG/ASSUALTRIFLE/AR2 TRIGGER LOL".
half life fanboy i see. get out of your moms basement faggot
Shut up.
What a bunch of bitchy little girls
"Because it's fun" is not an answer.
why the fuck do i have to justify what i enjoy to you it's funny how everyone was defending your "opinions" when for some reason you think they are fucking facts oh, and Heavy Rain is a videogame, prove me wrong.
half life fanboy i see. get out of your moms basement faggot (User was banned for this post ("Flaming" - Benji))
like you weren't a fanboy a few pages back either. you're such a trend follower, if it suddenly becomes cool to hate something you'll do it. you're a TOOL
oh, and Heavy Rain is a videogame, prove me wrong.
Where's the game?
Where's the game?
interactivity...
That article sounds more like a personal problem to me.
