Plus if a majority feels x is good then people who feel x is bad are liable to get publicly ostracized, with moderators often taking part in the reindeer games and even banning those dissenters without there being any public outcry because "he deserved it cuz he disagrees with me!!"

If I were Bieber I wouldn't touch anything thrown up on the stage. Better safe than sorry.

Maybe he could have just ignored it, he didn't even need to acknowledge the flag was there, but they way he treated it showed a clear lack of respect.
