The fact that in america we have to deal with this shit when countries like France are so many years ahead of us in terms of social progress. I know they have radical conservative groups too but from my understanding they don't have as much sway as they do here. I envy Europe.

Basically everything about the Tea Party is anti-intellectual, so it's fitting that they allow one of America's most well-known stupid people to represent them.

I can't believe that someone as legitimately insane as bachman actually made it into the US government unassisted. She has to be among the ranks of glenn beck and others like him who exist solely to make the republican party look bad. Hell the entire tea party movement is the same. The people who support the tea party are being tricked into agreeing with things that make normal people think they are crazy... They talked a big game about limited government but than got payed off by corporations and broadened to hate gays to win over traditional conservatives. Thats assuming they didn't already oppose gay marriage or the government intervening in peoples personal affairs.

I was on the board for my township to extend the next town over's bus system into ours. I thought it'd go great because we have a lot of old people living around me, surprisingly it didn't. A bunch of old tea party fuckers started screaming about big government (this was right after Affordable Healthcare act passed so they were really pissed). It was such bullshit because much smaller towns near us have done the same thing, and none of their poorer residents have had any problems with paying the slight tax increase. Fuck the tea party, literally all they did was scream in my face at this board meeting. Saying things like "YOURE 19 WHAT DO YOU POSSIBLY KNOW ABOUT ECONOMICS AND POLITICS". I'm going to beat them though, I'm gonna beat them in their own local politics game.
