Yes, because dying over the $40 in your wallet is such an awesome idea. But hey, at least you die honorably, right?

you do realize defenceless people do die in muggings and what not occasionally right
The amendment prohibiting ETOH also went through the entire referendum process and passed, and was later declared irrelevant after a second amendment canceled it. I would hope that by citing that amendment, you'd also see that banning things is never the solution, and just generates more crime.
So was my statement correct or incorrect?
So was my statement correct or incorrect?
it was useless
Correct, thanks to the states declaring it irrelevant. However as the 2nd amendment has not been remotely questioned in such a sense, it is still relevant.
But I thought I was in no position to pass judgement on such exalted parchment. Yet here I am, being correct.

I don't carry cash.

That's true, but it's not like you're greatly improving your chances of survival by trying to do some Clint Eastwood shit.
If some clown told me to give up my guns because I don't need them, I would probably have to bash him in the penis with a hammer.
I like my guns.
edit:
Also my neighbor is a retired ATF agent and he gave me this gem of knowledge.
"Disarming innocent people does not protect innocent people".

Why is his shirt soaked in grease.

Because he is a greasy motherfucker.
Guy's nuts, nothing to see here, folks.

It's not "some Clint Eastwood shit," you act like all muggers run around with knives out stabbing anyone they come in contact with. It doesn't work like that in the slightest. Remember that whole Hans Zimmer debacle where the aggressor struck first but the person on the receiving end still managed to draw his gun and kill the attacker?
Do you think that even with a rudimentary training in self defense, the people who are actually going to have a concealed carry license are going to be so unaware of their surroundings when in a potentially dangerous area that they aren't going to at the very least keep one hand on their holster if someone suspicious were to approach them? Do you really think that a knife wielding mugger isn't most likely going to start running in the opposite direction if someone pulls a gun on them?
Yeah this guy is pretty wacky, although I do approve of making guns a privilege rather than a right
Can anyone explain how a scenario in which the 2nd amendment would help out would actually come about in modern western society? It's like passing a radical law just in case aliens invade or something- the chance of the scenario occurring compared to the affect the laws have on society just doesn't work out

Because criminals don't obey laws, and have guns illegally. The second amendments says I am legally allowed to own a weapon to protect myself against them.

But criminals have weapons and ammunition because factories are built to cater for you?

America is saturated with guns. Many are in the hands of violent criminals. The repeal or questioning of the second amendment is just stupid for that reason.

I know, I was just pointing out the logical fallacy in the guns to protect from guns argument.

Guns can help to protect against murderous nutjobs.
Guns can help to protect against murderous nutjobs.
So? guns can help murderous nutjobs.
These is going to be a very tedious circular argument.

People will murder with or without guns.
People will murder with or without guns.
But undoubtedly a lot less.

You do realize you can make pretty large explosive devices from things found in most homes...

Yes.
But I don't think many people are murdered with them because firearms are not available.
Got any more fallacies to throw at me?
It's almost like there is a link between efficiency and ability to murder hmmmm, its almost like most murders are not pre-meditated.

So what do you suggest we do?

Just stop pretending that the 2nd amendment makes you safer.
Then time and history will do the rest.

What?
What?
If you disagree, why are you finding it so hard to prove otherwise?
Seems reasonable enough. Pass the appeal!
If you disagree, why are you finding it so hard to prove otherwise?
The second amendment allows me to own guns, thus having some protection against murderous nutjobs. If the second amendment were to be repealed, criminals would obviously not listen to it and it would leave law abiding citizens unarmed and defenseless against armed criminals.
Get it now?
