More than likely they wouldn't. But they shouldn't be kicked out just because they do say something. Legal policies like this only add to the discrimination in our society.
It may be a problem. Not many options are out there though which could be adapted to suit both sides of the party.
It may be a problem. Not many options are out there though which could be adapted to suit both sides of the party.
it shouldn't be adapted to suit both sides of the party. You shouldn't fucking compromise on civil rights
it shouldn't be adapted to suit both sides of the party. You shouldn't fucking compromise on civil rights
Oh? You speaks to liberate a society with freedom of speech yet if someone says, "I don't like that!" you say "Fuck you." very hypocrite if you ask me :P
It may be a problem. Not many options are out there though which could be adapted to suit both sides of the party.
that's the point brohound you shouldn't have to have compromise with civil rights
Oh? This is someone denying someone else's right to serve their country because of something that had nothing to do with their abilities.

We're discussing the former. Good job you fail

We have one who doesn't want homo-sexuality or bi-sexuality in the military ,and those who I agree with stating that, "That compromises rights which we're given for being citizens of America". Problem is not much can be done considering if you look at modern day the Government is already trying too erase our rights (Such as Freedom to Arm). Outright wrong? Yes. Not much we can do though. They already compromised our rights to do out with em' ,and most political structures run on the same bias concepts.

I can't even begin to rebut this shit because it just isn't worth my time.

Why SHOULDNT they be allowed to openly serve? Don't give me any bullshit like "Duuur he would fuck me in the butt so he shouldn't be allowed". Seriously. Give me one actual reason.

Which is bullshit because they're big boys and should be able to deal with this shit if they're out killing people for a living.
Guys you are forgetting one of the major reasons, not everyone in the army is as supportive as gays as most of this forum is, and i wouldn't be surprised if there were alot of homophobes. So while i completely support equal gay rights, this is one of the things that should stay for now. I mean, it isn't too much too ask, even though it is a little demeaning, it probably does stop combat units from disliking them because of their sexuality. Although some of the bullshit needs to be removed, like what happened in this article, or like i read somewhere else, someones pension being cut cause they found out afterwards.
Just remove the "you can get kicked out for this" shit and it'll be fine. I'm willing to bet even if they didn't have the risk of being discharged most people wouldn't let the army know they were gay.
Because he's a sexually insecure per-pubsecent teen?
Exactly.

I'm pretty sure manly homosexuals are the ones thats going to enlist into a group that involves going to a foreign country and killing shit. see this guy? His name is Victor Fehrenbach, an air force pilot who won 9 medals, one of them for flying under intense anti-aircraft missile while his attack system malfunctioned, forcing him to aim manually. He's been discharged for being gay while unable to get his 18 year pension, so he's shit out of luck because AF was his all life. but i guess tradition overrules everything
basically you cannot claim to "support our troops" if you don't support the repeal of DADT
besides, if two soldiers that developed brotherly bonds with each other and would go extreme measures to save him what can two homosexual lovers do? I'm pretty sure one would go out ultra-rambo and destroy everything he sees with dual machine guns with flamethrower modification.
"The 'don't ask, don't tell' piece is important and critical to this, but also it's a police misconduct case," Doody said.
lol, doody... And god damn it, that sucks hardcore. :| I'd be so pissed if I was discharged like that.
Meh the policy will be dumped soon enough and I imagine formerly discharged members will be allowed to return or be compensated heavily. Not that this isn't complete and utter bullshit and everyone in that police department who was remotely involved should be fired and then shot because they just did precisely the opposite of what they are supposed to do. Fucking idiots giving cops a bad name.
Fucking idiots giving cops a bad name.
That isn't hard to do
So why exactly did she get discharged? Just for being gay or was there another reason? and why exactly were the police raiding her house? and Why did they feel it was vital to tell the air force she was gay? Was her gayness a threat to national security? Oh my god, Shes gay! CODE RED!
Guys you missed the point a large part of don't ask don't tell is because not everyone in the army is smart and open minded, and there are bound to be alot of homophobes. I'm just saying if you repeal don't ask don't tell completely i fear teamwork will suffer because of it. I wish it wouldn't be like this but sadly it is, and while i think the policy needs to be alot more relaxed, it has a very good reason to exist.
Discharge the homophobes not the homosexuals
Arrgh, this is why Liberalism makes so much sense! Welcome the gays!
Discharge the homophobes not the homosexuals
Wish it was possible but there are ALOT of short-sighted people in the army.
Wish it was possible but there are ALOT of short-sighted people in the army.
But we shouldn't restrict the rights of some people because other people wouldn't like it. It's the same as not letting black people join the army because there are racists in it.
